Bethenny Frankel is stepping out of her The Real Housewives of New York City shoes once again as she takes on a new acting role for Lifetime's Danger in the Dorm.
This is Frankel's first acting role in over ten years, though she has been on television during this time.
Her role as Jill in The Neighbors Episode 21 was her first acting role since the 1990s, and now she's back for a major movie appearance.
Bethenny Frankel to Star in Danger in the Dorm
Danger in the Dorm is a far cry from reality TV as it follows true crime novelist Ann Rule's story of the same name.
Bethenny Frankel is more than a former Housewife, though. She's a television personality, entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist.
Now, we can add Lifetime actress to her resume as she stars alongside Clara Alexandrova (A Million Little Things).

Lifetime’s new movie A Rose for Her Grave: The Randy Roth Story tells the ripped-from-the-headlines story of notorious murderer Randy Roth. More than three decades ago, Roth was convicted of killing his third wife, Cynthia Baumgarter Roth, in 1991. He’s also suspected of killing his second wife, Janis Roth, in 1981, though he was never tried for that crime. Now 68, Roth is currently serving a 50-year sentence in a Washington State prison.

Nothing is worse than when crime doesn't pay off, especially when that crime is murder.
On Saturday, March 6, Lifetime continues its Ripped from the Headlines series with Circle of Deception. It's an Ann Rule inspired thriller starring none other than Law & Order: Svu's finest, Diane Neal.
It also serves as the directorial debut of Lifetime veteran actress Ashley Williams. Lifetime is always a network whose focus is on uplifting women and giving them opportunities.
During this Women's History Month, it's lovely to see that they're as passionate about helping women expand their worlds beyond the camera as they are in front of it.
If you previously missed the Circe of Deception Promo, then you should know that this is a wonderfully twisted true-crime tale of a scandalous murder that takes place in a small Rhode Island community that changed everything.

If you combine Lifetime, Ann Rule, and the esteemed Diane Neal, you get another ripped from the headlines thriller that will have you on the edge of your seats.
Circle of Deception is the latest Ann Rule true crime inspired piece to make it to the small screen, and as fans of the books and the Lifetime films know, they're among the strongest of the Ripped from the Headlines series.
And much like Lifetime actress Robin Givens helmed Ann Rule's A Murder to Remember, this time around, it's another network veteran, Ashley Williams, making her directorial debut.
From the promos, the standout of the film is Law & Order Svu's Diane Neal. She stars as a former Beauty Queen who orchestrates a murderous scheme.
The film is about a small island community that is rocked by the mysterious death of Russel Douglas, played by Paul McGillion, the day after Christmas.

Stockholm Syndrome is a fascinating and disturbing phenomenon. It was at the heart of A Murder to Remember, an adaptation of true-crime novelist Ann Rule's work.
The film presented Stockholm differently -- it was in a manner we're not used to seeing.
The film is also the directorial debut of Lifetime veteran actress, Robin Givens, and for her first venture, she did a fantastic job.
A Murder to Remember unfolded like a mystery. Viewers were left in the dark every bit as much as Robin.
She only had fractured memories left to piece together. They came to her in flashes as she tried to recall what happened to her husband during a camping trip that went wrong.
The Riveras were young newlyweds and so sweet together as they embarked on a trip to celebrate their first anniversary.
They were playful, loving, and head over heels for one another. Sadly,...

Lifetime has done it again with a harrowing but thoughtful film on domestic abuse.
Sleeping With Danger is the first in a two-night true crime series based on Ann Rule's Mortal Danger True Crime Collection.
And with incredibly strong performances by Elisabeth Röhm and Antonio Cupo, powerful writing, and artful direction and more, Lifetime delivered a compelling and impactful piece.
When Kim Raver and Manu Boyer come together with Lifetime for films, magic seems to happen. We've seen it before with the Jane Green book-to-series event, and we are seeing it again now.
It's something about the style of their films that feels unique for the network. Their movies are elevated and high-brow.
They never exhibit a hint of camp, and they somehow skirt that indie vibe that's just a touch dramatic.
Remarkably, a network that can bring us cheesy Christmas movies and campy thrillers also excels with some of the most beautifully crafted,...

Lifetime Expands ‘Ripped From The Headlines’ Slate with Five Movies Inspired by Ann Rule (Exclusive)
Lifetime has greenlit five new movies for its “Ripped from the Headlines” slate, all from best-selling true crime author Ann Rule, Variety has learned exclusively. Additionally, Ashley Williams and Robin Givens will make their small-screen directorial debuts with two of these films.
These five films come from Rule’s books “Danger in the Dorm,” “Mortan Danger,” “Practice to Deceive,” “Bitter Harvest” and “Empty Promises” and are being prepped for a summer launch. As part of Lifetime’s Broader Focus Initiative, four out of the five directors of these films are women, and three out of the five films were written by women.
“Bitter Harvest” tells the story of a brilliant doctor and mother who had the epitome of a picture perfect life with three children, an adoring husband and a beautiful house in an opulent neighborhood — but behind the curtain was a rocky marriage that takes a terrible turn and leaves her family in ruin.

Of all the true crime stories that have captured the public's attention recently, few are as twisted and infamous as Ted Bundy. The serial killer of the 1970s has been the subject of several new pieces of media, with a feature film starring Zac Efron on the horizon later this year. Bundy was known for using his charm to gain the trust of the young women he later brutally assaulted and murdered, but there was one woman he was close to but never attacked: Carole Ann Boone, the woman who actually married him.
Unlike many of the women Bundy charmed, only to turn on them and attack them, Boone seemed to be a true ally to Bundy. The couple apparently met during the time Bundy was in Olympia, Wa, in the earlier days of his crime spree. She worked for the state's Department of Emergency Services,...

Ahead of its world premiere at Sundance last night, Joe Berlinger’s Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile garnered a lot of buzz, not all of it good, as many folks had already determined it a glorification of Ted Bundy after the release of the first trailer. That being said, while Extremely Wicked does center around Bundy and the ramifications of the truly horrific and soulless acts he committed against his female victims, the film is also focused on examining the life of Liz Kloepfer, Bundy’s longtime girlfriend who had no idea she had a monster living in her home, helping her raise her daughter Molly, and how this man’s influence continued to loom over her even after he found himself behind bars, eventually being sentenced to death by electrocution.

Serial killer Ted Bundy, who died in Florida's electric chair in 1989, concealed his terrifying trail of terror for years while moving constantly about the country. That he was arrested, jailed on a charge of murder and then escaped - twice - to continue his rampage only adds to his horrifying legacy of at least 30 murders of women between 1973 and 1978. Bundy is back in the headlines after the publication of a new book by a survivor, which recounts her 1974 attack and escape - a story that victim Rhonda Stapley, then a 21-year-old Utah college student, kept secret for decades until a...

Rob Lowe will star as accused wife-killer Drew Peterson in the tentatively titled Drew Peterson Story, Lifetime confirms. As initially reported by Deadline, The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco will costar as former Illinois police sergeant Peterson’s fourth wife, Stacy, who disappeared in 2007 when she was 23 and Peterson was 53. While Peterson enjoyed the media attention while professing his innocence (her body has never been found), authorities did arrest him in 2009 — for allegedly murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio, whose 2004 death had initially been ruled an accidental drowning.

We recently heard from K.M. Jamison, the writer and director of "Serial: Amoral Uprising", a 58-minute crime/horror film that was produced to help get the promotional ball rolling on a feature he plans to film based around a fictional serial killer named Trenton Wade Bracks.
The film stars Wayne Dial, Kymberly Harris, and Christopher Howell (pictured) as Bracks. Here are more details in Jamison's own words: The best way to describe how things began with this project would be to go back to what initially inspired me to make this movie. My love and obsession for the study of true crime and my lifelong goal to write, shoot, and produce something that not only I could enjoy but to create something that could be loved by a wide range of people for years to come.

Don't judge this weekend's two-part Liftetime movie Everything She Ever Wanted (premiering Saturday) by its cover. As basic-cable pulp goes, the adaptation of Ann Rule's true-crime bestseller is actually some wicked grade-a melodrama with a killer lead performance by Gina Gershon. Literally -- the actress plays the infamous Pat Allanson, a Southern social striver best known for marrying a younger man in pursuit of his family's fortune at whatever cost. A few gun deaths, poisonings and imprisonments later, Pat turns her predatory eye on her own sister (Rachel Blanchard), who may know too much -- or does she? Gershon settles brilliantly into those plot and character ambiguities beneath Allanson's cutthroat, larger-than-life persona.
Movieline caught up with Gershon on her way to a matinee of Bye Bye Birdie (in which she's also currently starring on Broadway) for a chat about true stories, bad girls and what makes a camp classic.

Rob Lowe has often played the role of the charmer but not usually a killer charm like he does in the upcoming Lifetime Movie Network original "Too Late to Say Goodbye," based on the 2007 best-selling book by Ann Rule.
The book, based on a true story of a real-life murder investigation, inspires the new movie of the same name, where Lowe plays Bart Corbin, a successful dentist who appears to be in the perfect marriage with his wife Jenn. Soon Jenn discovers Bart's extramarital affair and is soon found dead.
Though it looked like a suicide, her sister Heather, played by Lauren Holly ("NCIS") suspects differently and begins to investigate the truth behind her sister's death and her seemingly perfect husband Bart's dark secrets.
"Too Late To Say Goodbye" is the latest addition to the Lifetime Movie Network's line-up of hit original movies, including the record-breaking "Natalee Holloway" which premiered...
