Love Island won't be Love Island without original love god Lee Sharpe and accidental comedian Paul Danan... were our first thoughts as the return of the decade-old dating show was announced.
But we were wrong. So very wrong.
Love Island 2015: Did Max and Jess deserve to win?
For six solid weeks, we were hooked on the tears and drama as romantic relationships formed and drastically unravelled. We cringed (and sniggered) at the unashamed sexual antics, the accompanying sound effects and dodgy post-coital lines - "my vagina feels like it's just been hit by a train" - which often took place unapologetically in the communal bedroom.
How we were entertained as desperate contestants attempted to couple up with anybody available just to stay on the show. What car crash television gold we were delivered when producers decided to bring in a contestant's spurned and bitter ex.
We saw grown men...

Omar Sultani and Beth Rogers were the latest Love Islanders to be evicted from the villa after facing the public vote on last night's show (June 25).
Speaking to Digital Spy following their exit, Beth and Omar reveal how they're gutted to miss Calum Best's entrance, and what they would have done differently if they could go back and change anything.
Plus, after neither found love on the island, could Omar's potential romantic partner have been the ITV2 show's host Caroline Flack all along?
Here's what they had to say below:
How are you feeling now you've left the show?
Omar: I'm a bit disappointed because I loved my time there, so to be honest it's kind of not real that I'm out. I want to be back in there.
It's much better [to have been voted out by the public]. To be fair, I was expecting it because I wasn't in a couple with anyone else and...

Love Island bid an emotional farewell to Daisy Muller and Chris Williamson who were democratically dumped on tonight's show (June 24).
Daisy was selected to leave by all the boys - comprising of Omar Sultani, Jordan Ring, Luis Morrison, Max Morley, Jon Clark and Josh Ritchie - bar Chris, who picked Zoe Basia Brown.
Chris was selected by Zoe, Jess Hayes, Lauren Richardson, Beth Rogers, Hannah Elizabeth and Naomi Ball, while Daisy went for Jordan.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Daisy let rip about ex-Love Island partner Jordan, who she seethed behaved like a "nob" and branded a "pr**k" for the way he treated her and love rival Zoe.
Meanwhile, Chris may not have found love on the island, but he's more than delighted with his blossoming bromances with the boys.
Are you disappointed to be out?
Daisy: I'm not really gutted to be out actually, I'm quite happy to go out tonight.

Love Island's Jess Hayes and newbie Max Morley may have shared a bed but nothing untoward happened, Max confirms on tonight's show (June 24).
Over breakfast the following morning, Max reveals to Josh that there was no action, before adding: "She puts the 'g' in 'game', that girl."
Later on in the Beach Hut, a lonesome Max reflects: "Jess is quite giggly around me, she's naturally flirty anyway. We'll have to see how things go. Like I've said, there's no one else in here and I'm here for a good time.
"It's not 'Friend Island'."
Round the pool, Jess confides in Daisy Muller and Beth Rogers, revealing that although nothing romantic happened between them, something might occur that night.
"I didn't really feel like it. I didn't want to go and neck him. I think I will tonight," she teased.
Beth isn't so enamoured with her current other-half and bed partner Omar Sultani.
