In fact, NBA star Nate Robinson is part of the "pimp your mouthpiece" movement -- and recently picked up a $5,300 customized mouthguard that's chock-full of real gold foil. The man behind the piece is Dr. Michael Wright of "The WrightGuard" ... who tells us high-end custom...

Will Ferrell made an unexpected appearance at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and ejected Shaquille O'Neal - the latest turn in his basketball-based repertoire
For once this season, the laughs at Staples Center had nothing to do with how poorly the Los Angeles Lakers were playing. As the Lakers faced off against the Phoenix Suns at home, defeating them 91-85, actor Will Ferrell made an unexpected debut as an usher. Sporting a full dad-stache, the obligatory hideous red suit and a name tag that identified him as "Ted Vagina" (possibly an oblique reference to one of the more notorious lines from "Anchorman"), Ferrell's appearance was more puzzling than out-and-out funny. The highlight of the evening occurred when Ferrell "ejected" former Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal from the game, presumably because of Shaq's history of bad blood with guard Kobe Bryant. (Or maybe he's seen Shaq's "analyst" work on TNT.)

The San Diego Padres drafted a kind of random college quarterback, Toledo's Terrance Owens, with their final selection in the recent Mlb draft - even though Owens isn't a baseball player. Owens hasn't played the sport since his first year of high school, in fact.
He told the Padres thanks, but no thanks, but it got my mind spinning. Great American athletes are not flocking to the game of baseball like they have in the past. African Americans in particular are abandoning baseball at a young age in favor of basketball and football, and the number of blacks in baseball has plunged to post-integration lows.
But I've always fantasized (and I mean that entirely non-sexually) about how awesome it would have been to see Allen Iverson on a ball diamond (he was a hell of a high school Qb an Db on the gridiron), and I've always thought that if Michael Vick weren't left-handed,...

Tension between Samcro members was ratcheted up many notches on Sons of Anarchy this week. Where does the show go from here?
That's what editor-in-chief Matt Richenthal is here to discuss, as he's joined by Dan Forcella and Christine Orlando in the latest edition of the TV Fanatic Round Table. Readers are encouraged to chime in with their own take on the following topics...

What was your favorite scene from the episode?
Matt: Probably the final one because it set the stage for what's to come. We got a glimpse of just how tight this family is, as they drank to the engagement of Jax and Tara. But it was really just the celebratory calm before a major Samcro storm. Without uttering a word, Bobby - or his strong beverage of choice, to be exact - said it best.
Dan: Last week, it was the simple conversation between Jax and Tara about getting out,...

Diminutive NBA baller Nate Robinson got himself in a jam early Friday morning ... when he was busted for pissing in public. The 5'9" former Slam Dunk champ was spotted by cops in White Plains, NY... urinating on the sidewalk across from City Hall. Robinson -- who has played for the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, and now the Oklahoma City Thunder -- has been released on $100 bail and ordered to return to court on June 22. What a pisser.

Today, the Twitterverse exploded as everyone simultaneously asked the question, "Why the f*ck is Kim Kardashian marrying Kris Humphries?" We at SportsOlogy hate to criticize anyone without offering solutions, so we decided to get on the Kardashian Kase and choose five NBA players who would be a better match for the reality queen than Kris "I Can't Believe I Just Gave a $2 Million Ring to Kim Kardashian" Humphries. As our Celebs Editor put it, Kim Kardashian would have said yes to anybody. She saw her sister marrying Lamar Odom, and she had to have a piece of the NBA action. Here are some alternatives to Kris Humphries.

Has there ever been a more hotly-anticipated NBA trade deadline than this year's? In the midst of one of the greatest seasons in the history of the National Basketball Association (with as a dozen teams who could make a legitimate claim on the championship this year), there have already been a handful of blockbuster deals that have sent top-level superstars to new locales. So far, the centerpiece deal sent Carmelo Anthony (and a host of others, including point guard Chauncey Billups) to the New York Knicks, but there are still a number of deals that are happening or could happen before the door closes on all trade activity at 3 p.m. Eastern.
In a somewhat shocking move, the Los Angeles Clippers shipped Baron Davis to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Mo Williams late Wednesday night (February 23). And though they lost out on their quest to get Anthony, the New...

So, you fail to take a deep breath and to count to 10 . and you post something you probably shouldn't on Twitter or Facebook, or somewhere else online.Hopefully, it blows over without doing too much damage. But what if you're famous and have thousands, if not millions of virtual followers?NFL star Larry Johnson was released by the Kansas City Chiefs after questioning his coach and posting gay slurs for all the world to see. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger was criticized for pulling out a big knife in a video that was posted as a "thank you" to constituents for suggesting ways to cut the state budget. Those are but two of the recent controversies that social networking helped ignite . and far from the last in an era when fans and gawkers are just waiting for sports stars, celebrities and politicians to say something embarrassing or naughty. New...
