ABC News Studios’ ‘Death in the Dorms’ returns for season 2
Season two of ABC News Studios’ true crime drama Death in the Dorms will return for season two on Thursday, February 22, 2024. ABC News Studios also announced two brand new docuseries – Daughters of the Cult and Me, Hereafter – will stream on Hulu next year.
Season one of Death in the Dorms premiered on January 5, 2023 and included investigations of Western Kentucky University, University of South Carolina, University of Florida, and UCLA. ABC News Studios’ Carrie Cook executive produces along with Myles Reiff, Yes, Like The River’s Nile Cappello, and The Intellectual Property Corporation’s Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman. ABC News Studios’ David Sloan is a senior executive producer.

The studio is behind two new series for the streamer including Daughters of the Cult and Me, Hereafter as well as a second season of Death in the Dorms.
It is the third slate of true-crime docs from ABC News Studios since its 2022 launch and follows series such as Killing County, Betrayal: The Perfect Husband and three seasons of Wild Crime.
Daughters of the Cult, which launches on January 4, is a five-episode deep-dive into the history of a splinter group of Mormon fundamentalist cult members who perpetrated a deadly wave of violence and abuse for decades in the name of their fanatical prophet, Ervil LeBaron. Dubbed the “Mormon Manson,” LeBaron and his followers were hidden in plain sight throughout the Southwest and Mexico. Now, past members of the infamous cult tell the true story behind the string of murderous crimes.

Leah Remini (Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath) is expanding her relationship with A+E Networks, signing a two-year overall first-look development deal to produce new unscripted projects for the A+E Networks portfolio.
This marks the first overall deal for A+E’s newly launched in-house nonfiction division, A+E Originals, designed to internally develop and produce premium nonfiction and documentary content for distribution across the A+E portfolio, including A&E Network, Lifetime, History, Lmn and Fyi.

A+E Networks has set a first-look development pact with Leah Remini and renewed her “Scientology and the Aftermath” docu-series for a third season.
The production deal comes on the heels of A+E’s launch of an unscripted production unit dubbed A+E Originals. The plan is for Remini to develop a range of documentary content, beyond the subject of Scientology, for A&E, Lifetime, History and other in-house A+E platforms.
