When Game of Thrones wrapped up its run after eight seasons, it seemed it had ruined any chance of a spinoff due to the poor fan reaction to the final season.
House of the Dragon, a prequel charting the downfall of the Targaryen dynasty, premiered in 2022 and delivered plenty of fantasy drama to reignite interest in the franchise.
The Targaryen storyline is interesting because we didn’t meet many of them on the original series due to them being dead.
House of the Dragon Season 1 successfully established the conflicts between the Greens and the Blacks to prepare for the mother of all battles on House of the Dragon Season 2.
With new episodes fast approaching, it’s time to delve into everything we know about the next chapter.
Get all the details below.

“House of the Dragon” Releases Dueling Season 2 Trailers
Are you Team Green or Team Black?
HBO has released two new trailers for the upcoming second season of its “Game of Thrones” spinoff series “House of the Dragon.”
The new trailers, which set the series’ return on the cabler and Max late this spring, respectively focus on Princess Rhaenrya Targaryen (played by Emma D’Arcy), Prince Daemon (Matt Smith), and their black faction, and on Alicent Hightower’s (Olivia Cooke) green King’s Landing team of Alicent.
The fantasy drama series, based on author George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood,” details the history of House Targaryen nearly 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones.” Season 1 followed Rhaenyra in her fight to be named the chosen heir of King Viserys I (Patty Considine) and the lead-up to the Dance of the Dragons.

HBO’s confirmed a June 16, 2024 premiere date for House of the Dragon season two and released the first-ever “dueling” trailers. Viewers are asked to choose a side in the war between House Targaryen (#TeamBlack) and House Hightower (#TeamGreen), and then watch the trailer dedicated to their chosen allegiance.
“Westeros is on the brink of a bloody civil war with the Green and Black Councils fighting for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively. As each side believes theirs to be the rightful seat on the Iron Throne, the Green and Black trailers reflect those two perspectives in separate yet complementary halves of the same story,” reads HBO’s press release. “For global audiences, ‘All Must Choose’ their side of House Targaryen as the realm fractures in season two.”

House of the Dragon season two dropped dueling trailers Thursday, prompting fans to choose between the black trailer, focusing on Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), or the green one, which puts Alicent (Olivia Cooke) at the forefront.
Rhaenyra’s trailer focuses on her, Prince Daemon (Matt Smith) and their Dragonstone forces, while the green puts King Landing’s team of Alicent, Otto (Rhys Ifans) and her children — King Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) and Prince Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) — at the forefront. This season of the Emmy-nominated show will begin the Targaryen’s civil war, also known as the Dance of the Dragons.
Max also announced a June 16 release date for the eight-episode second season of the Game of Thrones prequel that picks up where the first season of the Emmy-winning show left off. The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood and takes place 200 years before the events of the hit...

House of the Dragon Season 2 will return to TV screens this summer.
HBO kicked off the promotional campaign for the sophomore season of the Game of Thrones spinoff on Thursday – and it’s a unique approach.
Instead of releasing one trailer, we got two—one focused on Team Black and another on Team Green.
The purpose is to allow viewers to easily choose between the two warring sides of the Targaryen family.
New episodes of the eight-part season get underway on Sunday, June 16, at 9/8c on HBO and Max.
Let’s delve into the two trailers because each makes a compelling case for being Team Black and Team Green.

HBO has released not one, but two trailers for the upcoming House Of The Dragon season 2 and revealed when it’ll premiere.
If you’ve been patiently waiting for some more concrete news on House Of The Dragon season 2, we have some good news for you.
HBO has released two new trailers for the upcoming season and given it a release date.
The new season will air on HBO starting from 16th June in the US and 17th June in the UK on Sky Atlantic. UK viewers can either watch the episode at 2am at the same time as our American friends or watch it in the usual primetime spot at 9pm.
Now then, the trailers.
The reason there’s two is that viewers can choose their side between Green and Black, aimed to represent the conflict between King Aemon and Queen Rhaenyra, both of whom believe they have the birthright to the throne.

The councils are at war. If you pledge your loyalty to the Black Council, you can watch the Black Trailer. If you are a supporter of the Green Council, you can view the Green Trailer. Or if you’re just in excited anticipation of the new season of the Game of Thrones series, you can watch them both. HBO has just released two trailers, by way of Deadline, that tell of the upcoming civil conflict for the control of The Iron Throne. In October of 2022, the first season of House of the Dragon left audiences with a sense of impending war as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen found herself laced with rage and coming to a decision to battle for the throne. The second season suffered some delay due to last year’s dual union strikes, but wait no more. The Green and Black trailers showcase this season’s story from the...

“House of the Dragon” is asking viewers to pick a side in Season 2: Rhaenyra’s black faction or Alicent’s green team?
HBO dropped two unique trailers Thursday for Season 2, which premieres on June 16. One trailer focuses on Rhaenrya, Prince Daemon and their forces on Dragonstone, and the other is centered on the King’s Landing team of Alicent, her father Otto and her children King Aegon and Prince Aemond. Taking place 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones,” Season 2 of “House of the Dragon” will officially mark the start of the Dance of the Dragons, the Targaryen civil war.
In the wake of the Season 1 finale, in which Aemond murders Rhaenyra’s son Lucerys and his dragon, war is imminent in Westeros. The blacks and the greens are both gathering their forces, dragons and new allies to face off in a bloody, fiery battle to the death.

HBO on Thursday revealed two trailers for the second season, one for each side of the Targaryen Civil War. Are you Team Green or Team Black?
“House of the Dragon” is just one of the countless projects delayed by 2023’s Hollywood strikes, but it also happens to be a production behemoth that requires months of postproduction and editing even under ideal circumstances. Following the death of King Viserys I (Paddy Considine), an undeniable rift has grown between his daughter Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and wife Alicent (Olivia Cooke), after their close friendship as teenagers.

Every time a Targaryen is born, to paraphrase a memorable line from fantasy author George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire," the gods toss the coin in the air and the world holds its breath to see how it will land. This, of course, refers to the uniquely Targaryen penchant for instability that we caught a brief but violent glimpse of throughout "Game of Thrones" -- as it turns out, centuries of incestuous marriage traditions will have that effect -- but that was nothing compared to the relentless display of fire and blood in season 1 of "House of the Dragon." HBO's prequel series was set 200 years before the events of the original, back when the Targaryen dynasty had reached its zenith and spread its influence across the continent of Westeros. And despite concerns that the divisive final season of "Game of Thrones" might turn viewers off from...

Heads-up, landlubbers. This article contains major spoilers for "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom."
Let's talk about trash. No, that's not a reference to the pretty dismal reviews for the latest "Aquaman" sequel, which has ended the DC Extended Universe with more of a whimper than a bang. (Although /Film's review by Rafael Motamayor generally lands on the more positive end of the spectrum.) Rather, this is in reference to one major oversight from the 2018 movie that director James Wan has finally set right this time around. For all its fairly obvious missteps, "The Lost Kingdom" actually improves on its predecessor in one specific way that few DC films -- and superhero movies in general -- have ever even attempted. And it has to do with pesky humans making this world a worse and worse place to live by the minute.

James Wan’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is a minimum viable product, plopped into the theater with an apathy as pervasive and all-encompassing as the ocean itself. Despite being the successor to a film that got over with fans on the strengths of some big creative swings, Aquaman 2’s job is to simply exist—the last cynical hope of squeezing a few nickels out of the unsalvageable mess that is Warner Bros.’s last decade of superhero movies.
There’s some logic to the approach. Disconnected from having to exist as part of a larger universe, the film keeps things nice and tidy, demanding nothing of viewers. Despite some wild gesticulating toward the idea of Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) as a bro-ey husband and father to an adorable newborn, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom’s central concern is that Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) still wants revenge for Aquaman...

Warning: this post contains major spoilers for "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom."
After five years, the best superhero movie of 2018 that did not win an Oscar is finally back with a sequel. "Aquaman" remains a high point of the Dceu, a fantastical adventure movie with great worldbuilding, cool performances, an excellent horror scene, and some of the most bonkers moments in the superhero genre — like a drums-playing octopus, an army of crab people, and Julie Andrews playing an aquatic kaiju.
Now, "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" doubles down on everything its predecessor did by letting James Wan go fully nuts. It expands the world of Aquaman by bringing in a mythical threat and introducing DC's answer to Mordor, it has a poignant story about the current threat to the environment, and it also gives us a fun road trip movie with Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson as bickering brothers that once fought to the death.

Based on Fire & Blood by George R. R. Martin, House of the Dragon is the prequel to HBO’s wildly popular series Game of Thrones. Hotd focuses on the Targaryen ancestors, who altered the course of the family’s destiny. Despite initial suspicion around its faith,...

With so many shows being delayed, House of the Dragon Season 2 is still on track for a summer 2024 launch on HBO.
It's nice to know when to expect the hit Game of Thrones spinoff's return because many shows are in the air at this stage.
HBO gave viewers their first close-up of the second chapter at the Ccxp fan event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday.
As expected, plenty of blood-filled encounters, dragons, and some vengeance are thrown in for good measure.
After House of the Dragon Season 1 concluded with Lucerys being knocked out of the sky by Vhagar.
What was supposed to send a message by frightening Lucerys became something much more sinister when Vhagar took control of the situation and killed Rhaenyra's son.
The promo picks up with Rhaenyra at Storm's End, and let's just say she does not look thrilled.

After a five-year wait, Aquaman is finally surfing into theaters once again. Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” heralding the return of Jason Momoa’s aquatic DC hero.
“Lost Kingdom” follows Momoa’s Arthur Curry, better known as the half human, half Atlantean hero Aquaman, now sitting on the throne of Atlantis. The sequel sees him team up with his half-brother Orm (Patrick Wilson) to fight ruthless pirate Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II).
Here’s the logline: “Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm,...

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s long-running manga series One Piece launched last week and seems to have been a big success. Fans are eager for more, and producers told Variety that scripts for One Piece season 2 are already complete.
“We’ve got scripts ready,” said Marty Adelstein, CEO of Tomorrow Studios, which produces the series. Production on One Piece season 2 obviously can’t get underway until the SAG-AFTRA strike is resolved, but once they’re able to start, Tomorrow Studios president Beck Clements said the new season could debut as early as next year. “Realistically, hopefully, a year away, if we move very quickly, and that is a possibility,” Clements said. “Somewhere between a year and 18 months, we could be ready for air.“
Netflix hasn’t yet announced a season 2 renewal for One Piece, but Clements seems confident it’s coming. “They keep it, as you know,...
