At the time of his death, Reeve was the majority shareholder in Great Point Media. His shareholding transferred to his wife, Laura, an agent for film and TV crew, following his sudden death in February at the age of 64. Reeve’s cause of death has not been disclosed.

Remarkably in a career spanning more than a decade, this formerly untitled project counts as Joshua Marston‘s first feature in the English language and only third feature film. He debut film was workshopped at the 2002 January Screenwriters Lab and was presented at the 2004 edition of the fest and not only would the tense drama play extremely well theatrically, it nabbed it’s star Catalina Sandino Moreno an Oscar nomination. Marston, who takes on a lot of projects namely television gigs between his feature films (Maria Full of Grace was followed by 2011’s The Forgiveness of Blood) he nonetheless been part of the fabric of Sundance working as an advisor at the Institute’s Labs since 2011. Starring Rachel Weisz, Michael Shannon, Kathy Bates and Danny Glover, lensing on his third feature commenced late last year and frankly this could shore up just about anywhere on the film festival circuit. Now titled Complete Unknown,...

You can only have an actor attached for so long until they “grow” out of the role and you can only have a director on board for a short lapse until they move onto other projects. The wobbled history of Goat, a book to film adaptation begins back in 2004 when we first reported that David Gordon Green would direct the project. A 2005 update that Emile Hirsch would topline and then the baton was passed onto Jeff Nichols in 2007 when he was suppose to have taken over the director’s chair. Flash-forward to late last year when James Franco joined forces with Killer Films, and Andrew Neel (a fiction and non-fiction filmmaker with already five features under his belt including 2012’s King Kelly) was hired – thus landing the coveted directing gig. Production took place in May in Cincinnati, and if this takes a truly savage, rough hewn approach, no doubt that...

"The Academy has been so good to me, country music has been so good to me," the singer said with a smile before a wave of emotion hit. She tried again, "I had so much to say," before admitting through tears, "But I forget it all! What's wrong with me?" Emcee Jake Owen was empathetic. Referencing Underwood's recently announced pregnancy, he turned to the singer's husband, Mike Fisher, seated below the stage.

Syfy is doing well with its original series, and coming off the back of the popularity, and general awesomeness, of Helix, the network has announced two more series are coming your way.
With zombies now taking over the top spot in the ever-changing monster popularity consciousness, it’s no surprise that we’re getting another series focusing on the undead. Syfy‘s spin is Z Nation, and rather than kicking off with the appearance of the zombies, this one starts years after our zombie plague has already gutted most of humanity. Apparently, when someone immune to the plague finally turns up, we embark upon a quest to reach the other side of the country to hopefully make use of his blood in creating a cure.
There aren’t a lot of details yet, and this is one that will live or die by its cast, but it could be an...

In recent years, Syfy has become better known for shlocky creature features like Sharktopus and Sharknado than high-quality sci-fi/fantasy programming, but the channel has been taking steps over the past few weeks to reclaim its title as the resident channel for sci-fi aficionados. Hot on the heels of ordering a TV adaptation of the Bruce Willis classic 12 Monkeys, green-lighting miniseries Ascension and drama Dominion, and renewing series Helix, Continuum, Lost Girl, Defiance and Haven, Syfy has ordered a miniseries rooted in Greek mythology, titled Olympus.
The 13-episode series will tell the story of a group of brave men and women who banished the gods to “the realm of the unconscious: a place they called the Underworld, or the Kingdom of Hades,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. Olympus follows a man named Hero, who grows from a young boy into a brilliant leader capable of taking on the gods themselves.

Nashville, Tenn. — Gordon Stoker, a member of The Jordanaires vocal group that backed Elvis Presley, died Wednesday. He was 88.
His son, Alan, told The Associated Press that Stoker died at his home in Brentwood, Tenn., after a lengthy illness. Stoker, who was born in Gleason, Tenn., got his start playing the piano on Wsm radio and its signature show, the Grand Ole Opry.
Alan Stoker said his father was just 15 when he started playing professionally. He joined the Jordanaires as a piano player, but then became tenor vocalist. The group was already well known for their gospel singing when Presley recruited them to perform on his recording of "Hound Dog," in 1956.
The Jordanaires originated in Missouri and came to Nashville, where they backed Red Foley on a segment of the Opry called the "Prince Albert Show," according to John Rumble, senior historian at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

The writer/director/producer/failed pop star explains the music choices for his most personal work yet
Cemetery Junction is probably the most personal of all my work so far. Sure, I worked in an office for 8 years as a middle manager, like that David Brent, then I worked my way up in TV like that Andy Millman, and like most comedians, my stand up is observational. But Cemetery Junction is not only based on my memories of my most formative years but it feeds on the most fundamental things in the making of a man: family, economics, the time and place you happened to be plonked in. Even though the movie is a fiction, the values, themes and characters are based on my memory of growing up in Reading in the early 70's. The soundtrack had to reflect that. It's purely coincidence that the songs in the film happen...

I met John McHugh in the autumn of 1966, when I was a cub reporter on the Sun-Times and he was a rewrite man, two years my senior, on the Chicago Daily News. We are still best friends. He worked the overnight shift, and among his duties was taking calls from readers. After midnight, they wanted to settle bets. "And what do you say?" McHugh would ask. He would listen, and then reply, "You're 100% correct. Put the other guy on." Pause. "And what do you say?" Pause. "You're 100% correct." If he was asked for his name, he said, "John T. Greatest, spelled with three Ts."
One night in autumn 1969 we found ourselves in the Old Town Gate, three blocks from our customary posts at O'Rourke's Pub. "I had my first job in Chicago here," he reminisced. "I invented the Roquefort Burger. Somebody ordered a cheeseburger and I, being a dumb Mick,...
