Last year, Titan Books began a new publishing initiative to dig back into the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's inter-connected superhero film series known as The Infinity Saga. Starting with "Iron Man: The Art of the Movie," the publisher is re-issuing all of the art books tied to (almost) every chapter of the MCU. "The Art of Iron Man 2" followed earlier this year, and there will be 24 books in the entire collection. Now is the time for the God of Thunder and the shimmering realm of Asgard to take the spotlight.

This will be the third book getting re-released next week, going behind the scenes of "Thor," a movie that brought us closer to an assembly of Marvel's Avengers and essentially a point of no return for the franchise. Like the rest of the art books, they're...

Dee Rees is a tall woman of fierce charisma. She’s the kind of director who talks fast, ideas coming so quickly that those less inclined can barely keep up. And yet her output has been slow: After Focus Features snapped up her breakout 2011 feature debut “Pariah” at Sundance, it was four years before HBO Film’s Emmy and DGA-award-winning 2015 biopic “Bessie.”
“There’s an assumption that men who do small personal movies can leap to deliver larger things,” said “Bessie” producer Shelby Stone. “It’s much harder for women.”
Finally, we get to see Rees fulfill her promise with “Mudbound,” a Sundance triumph that set the 2017 festival sales record with its $12.5 million sale to Netflix, and opened AFI Fest November 9 after wowing crowds at seven film festivals.
When Rees received the Sundance Next Fest Vanguard Award in August, her presenter, “Pariah” star Kim Wayans, said it best: “The introverted,...

Wil Rees is a conceptual illustrator and has worked on numerous big-budget Hollywood films. Today, I want to look at the artwork Rees created for three comic book movies: Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 (2004), Mark Steven Johnson's Daredevil (2003) and Tim Story's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). I'm especially fond of the Spidey 2 artwork as it contains the "Go get 'em, Tiger" scene with Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) encouraging Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) to embrace his superhero identity. There's also key frame of Dr. Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina) escaping the hospital right after that chilling operation scene. I think a lot of you will find the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer key frame art even more tantalizing as it features a lot of unused scenes. At some point the script had the Fantastic Four confronting Doctor Doom (Julian McMahon) in an ancient...

Concept Art by Wil Rees The Rock Trolls are a race of creatures led by Ulik, the Unstoppable Troll. As part of his quest to make himself look like the ultimate and greatest hero of Asgard, Loki sent his adoptive brother Thor to Nornheim, where Thor battled Ulik. Contrary to his plans went wrong, Loki was forced to aid his brother in activating Frostgrinder, the Troll equivalent of the Bifrost Bridge in order to escape, realizing Mangog was too powerful of an adversary. - marvelcinematicuniverse.wikia.com Click Here for More Thor Artwork at Film Sketchr "Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, "Thor", which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth...

This is one of those times being a geek, a collector and a fan can really come in handy. When Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine from Relic/Thq came out we covered it’s release. It got me thinking back to 1987 and the launch of the Role Playing game. I bought the copy of White Dwarf which heralded the launch of the new game and the universe that had been carefully crafted. That’s when I first encountered the amazing work of Wil Madoc Rees.
So after playing this latest incarnation I went back to my attic and dug out that issue. I then hunted out Wil. He’s now living in California and working in Hollywood. He’s easy to talk with and it’s been a pleasure to hook-up with such a talented artist; one who’s visual concept work has helped shape some of cinemas recent biggest block busters.
