Although the Ramones shared the writing credits on all of their early songs, Dee Dee (writing on his own) was probably the most prolific songwriter of the group, followed by Joey.
Was the second of four original members of the Ramones to die, preceded by Joey (who died in 2001) and succeeded by Johnny and Tommy, who died in 2004 and 2014 respectively.
Former member of the punk rock group The Ramones
Apparently, Dee Dee had trouble remembering his lines for "Rock n' Roll
High School", and eventually his part was whittled down to 'Hey pizza,
it's great, let's dig in.".
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 (as a member of
the Ramones).
Born in Virginia, but raised in West Germany.
He was the second member of the ramones to pass away after joey ramone died of cancer in 2001.
