"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" has had some wild guest stars over the years, from Guillermo del Toro to P. Diddy. Usually, the celebrities only appear for a single episode, but one Oscar nominee actually had a recurring role in season 2.
That actor is Anne Archer, whose performance as Beth Gallagher in the 1987 mega-hit "Fatal Attraction" earned her a Golden Globe nomination as well as an Academy Award nomination. Archer's time on "Sunny" was short-lived but unforgettable. The actor plays Barbara Reynolds, mother to Dee and Dennis and ex-wife of Frank. Barbara resurfaces in her family's lives in the season 2 episode "The Gang Goes Jihad" to regain control of her possessions after being divorced by Frank and robbed by her children.

Not only do Disney have a second season of The Santa Clauses being released this holiday season, they also have a handful of new festive movies coming too. The first of which is Dashing Through the Snow.
Ludacris plays a divorced social worker who despises Christmas after a painful childhood memory but has to spend Christmas Eve on a call with his daughter and a man who very much loves Christmas.
I think this movie’s biggest problem is that it seems to try to have several different stories run alongside each other, with the lead one just being ‘daughter tries to convince her Dad that Christmas is a happy time of year’. There are some weird subplots here that of course involve Santa and reindeer,...

It’s hard to think of Kiefer Sutherland without thinking of Jack Bauer, the CTU agent who foiled terrorists again and again in 24. It’s been nearly a decade since we last saw Jack Bauer in 24: Live Another Day, but the possibility of another revival of the beloved action series remains.

The term “queer” has exploded in the last few decades: Once a mere synonym for “strange,” “queer” was reportedly used as a homophobic slur starting in the late 19th century. While the word enjoyed reclamation in activist circles throughout the 20th century, its recent mainstream adoption has been swift and unprecedented. Where “queer” used to add a biting edge to the works of avant-garde artists or radical protestors, now you’re just as likely to see it describe the CEO of Land O’Lakes butter.
These days, the word “queer” does a lot of heavy lifting, and it certainly encompasses more than homosexuality. Depending what academic theory you read, “queer” can be used as a noun, adjective or verb, or as an identity label or a descriptor for any non-normative person or behavior. Optimists may call it an umbrella term. Pessimists may call it meaningless.
Perhaps because “queerness” has become so expansive,...

‘Please Baby Please’ Trailer: Karl Glusman and Andrea Riseborough Turn Heads in Gay Musical Fantasia
One of the wildest, campiest, least apologetic films of the 2022 festival season is “Please Baby Please.” Amanda Kramer’s 1950s-set LGBT musical thriller tells the story of a straight-passing married couple who begin questioning their conceptions of gender, sexuality, and monogamy after witnessing a murder and becoming involved with a greaser gang known as the Young Gents. The movie premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival and was soon acquired by Music Box Films, who is giving it a theatrical release later this year.
“There are many things we love about this film, including Andrea Riseborough’s fierce and fearless performance,” said Music Box Films’ Brian Andreotti. “Director Amanda Kramer’s bold mise en scene and stylized 1950s iconography combine to give adventurous audiences a highly entertaining musing on gender roles and desire that is both timely and timeless,”

Born from a decision to combine two aughts-era sketches that weren’t quite working on their own, filmed in 2018, and debuted in 2020 at Sundance, writer-director Adam Rehmeier would be forgiven for just being happy Dinner in America is finally hitting the public. The result is more than the culmination of a lengthy artistic gestation, though—its content, humor, and heart all merge to deliver a piece with the potential for cult appeal that transcends the act itself. It’s a treatise on America, the blurred line between taboo and cruelty, and our collective fear of real individuality despite claims by both sides of the aisle to foster freedom. The outcasts get their day.

One of the more entertaining films I saw back at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival was the punk rock rom-com Dinner in America. Directed by Adam Carter Rehmeier, the film has now finally received U.S. distribution via the newly-launched company Best & Final Releasing. Ahead of a theatrical release on May 27 and on June 7, the new trailer and poster have now arrived.
The film follows an on-the-lam punk rocker (Kyle Gallner) and a young woman (Emily Skeggs) obsessed with his band who go on an unexpected and epic journey together through the decaying suburbs of the American Midwest. Also starring Griffin Gluck, Pat Healy, Mary Lynn Rajskub, David Yow, Hannah Marks, Nick Chinlund, and Lea Thompson, see the trailer below.
