- Spent his final years residing in Miami, USA where he announced that he was a born-again Christian and had no plans on returning to the raunchy comedy routines that made him a star. He owned and operated a restaurant, "A La Pasta Con Porcel" which was located 2701 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach.
- Reportedly, during the filming of Carlito's Way (1993), the film's star, Al Pacino, had difficulty with his scenes with Jorge Porcel, who played Saso, the club owner. Porcel, who was primarily a television comedian in his native Argentina, spoke no English and learned his lines phonetically.
