- Jim Pons was born on March 14, 1943 in Santa Monica, California, USA. He is an actor, known for The Boat That Rocked (2009), The Wood (1999) and Hunky Dory (2011).
- After leaving the Mothers, Pons toured with Flo and Eddie, then quit the music business, becoming video director for the New York Jets, which job he held until 2000.
- Replaced Chip Douglas as bassist for The Turtles, when Douglas left to become the Monkees' producer. Followed singers Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman (aka Flo and Eddie) into Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention after the Turtles broke up.
- Played bass guitar and sang in The Leaves, whose only hit was "Hey Joe".
- He was a member of The Leaves.
