- Hans Poelzig was born on April 30, 1869 in Berlin, Germany. He was an art director and production designer, known for Deception (1920), The Chronicles of the Gray House (1925) and The Golem (1920). He died on June 14, 1936 in Berlin, Germany.
- Noted German architect and occasional film art director, a graduate of the Technische Universität in Berlin. From 1903 to 1916, he held a position as Professor of Architecture at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Wroclaw. Between 1916 and 1920, he was chief architect for the city of Dresden, in 1923 taking up a professorship at Dresden University.
