Ethel Pettit was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas.
Pettit was a singer and stage actress before marrying novelist
Arthur Somers Roche in 1917. She had
played leading roles in such Broadway musicals as "Miss Springtime" and
"The Lilac Domino". Pettit wrote two novels, "Move Over" (1927) and
"The Rich Are Always With Us" (1931) and had finished a mystery series
her husband started before his death in 1935.
Ethel Pettit Roche passed away after a short illness. She was survived by her son Clyde S. Roche and
stepson James Jeffrey Roche.
