- In the late 1950s, Pedi's face became know to almost every American when he appeared for over four years as "Charlie", the washing machine repairman, on the famous Dash commercials. He was also the first Maytag Repairman in television commercials, predating Jesse White who became more familiar due to the amount of time he spent with this product.
- Played Harry the Horse in three separate Broadway productions of Guys and Dolls, in 1950, 1955 and 1965 but lost the role to Sheldon Leonard in the 1955 film.
- Cousin of actress and singer Christine Pedi.
- Played Rocky the Bartender in the original 1946 Broadway production of The Iceman Cometh and repeated the role in the 1960 TV movie and the 1973 theatrical film.
