Rodion Ovchinnikov is a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor, theater director, teacher.
In 1979 Ovchinnikov entered the Shchukin School on the course of
Yuriy Katin-Yartsev. After graduating from college, from 1983 to 1991 he served in the Lenin Komsomol Theater, then, from 1993 to 1995, in the Taganka Theater with
Yuriy Lyubimov.
Since 1996 he has been teaching at the Shchukin Higher Theater School, is an associate professor of the Department of Actor's Skill, since 2009 - Professor of the Department of Actor's Skill.
Ovchinnikov began filming in 1987, making his debut as Zhora Landys in the drama
Zavtra byla voyna (1987) directed by
Yuriy Kara based on the story of the same name by
Boris Vasilev.
