Justice League Unlimited is often regarded as one of the best series ever created by the DC Animated Universe. Throughout its run, it kept fans’ interest at its peak, making them hooked on it and wanting more at the end of each episode. But even with such good reviews, fans had conflicting opinions over a few things, especially one that included the Green Lantern.
Justice League Unlimited.
One of these few features of the story that caught fans in a whirlwind of mixed emotions was Green Lantern ending up choosing Vixen at one point. However, while fans may be worried about it because of what they saw onscreen, a lot of thought process was involved behind its helming, and the writer’s opinion on the same only further proves this!

Comics are an intimidating medium, which is ironic considering how many of us had formative reading experiences with comic books. But there’s a perception (that isn’t always unfounded) that if you aren’t constantly keeping up with comics, especially superhero comics, you’ll fall too far behind, get lost, and never get caught up. Or that you’ll be roped into buying a bunch of books that you’re not into just to “understand” the ones you’re following. Or that it’s all superheroes all the time.
Well, we say…to hell with that noise! Comics are no different than TV or movies in that there’s an infinite array of genres and tones to indulge yourself in, and even well-established long-running characters routinely set easy jumping on points for newer readers. It’s a new year, and there’s no better time to get into (or back into) reading comics.

Every year, Barack Obama releases his summer reading list, and every year, we look forward to it with excitement. On July 9, the former president released this year's series of book recommendations on Instagram, which include At Night All Blood Is Black by David Diop, Things We Lost to the Water by Eric Nguyen, and Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro.
"Whether you're camped out on the beach or curled up on the couch on a rainy day, there's nothing quite like sitting down with a great book in the summer," Obama wrote. "While we were still in the White House, I began sharing my summer favorites - and over the years, it's become a little tradition that I look forward to sharing with you all. So without further ado, here are some books I've read recently. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did." Check out Obama's summer...

Everywhere you look these days, there seems to be a dozen memes and references to what’s probably the most talked-about new show right now, Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness. The crazy, unbelievable docuseries about big cat collectors and conservationists has taken everyone by storm with its bonkers story, larger than life personalities and gripping mystery, leaving millions captivated ever since it hit Netflix last month.
The beloved show doesn’t seem to be losing steam, either. In fact, earlier today, the streaming giant dropped a new episode onto their platform, giving fans a bit more of this insane world and its inhabitants. But unfortunately, it hasn’t gone over too well with subscribers, as many have taken to social media to complain about what a letdown the new Tiger King outing was. And below, you can find just a sample of what folks are saying about it:

Generation X #2
Written by Christina Strain | Art by Amilcar Pinna | Published by Marvel Comics
When looking at recent relaunch of all the X-Men titles there is no question what the weakest link is so far and that is Generation X. So far it is a series that is severely lacking its own identity. Yes there are similar characters that once appeared in past Generation X stories but so far the characterizations have been poor and uninteresting. There are some ideas here that could work. Having to approach the teaching of teenage mutants differently based on their gifted powers could yield a good story if it ever gets to that point.
With some better editing this could have been a much shaprer book. Looking at these two issues there is no reason the story so far should be taking as long as it has been. That may sound hyperbolic for a...

Dead Ringers: Ando’s Self-Adapted Switcheroo a Highlight for Servillo But Little Else
Politics and doppelgangers have hewn a surprisingly wide berth throughout decades of cinema, used as a convenient trope to entertain as a simple metaphor (though eventually, it would be nice to see what this is going to look like when cinema starts taking depictions of female leaders seriously). For Viva la Liberta, or rather, Long Live Freedom, directed by Roberto Ando from his own novel, we have Italian actor Toni Servillo in prime form in dual roles as a pair of yin and yang twins (the only colors they seem to come in when portrayed by the same performer). As a testament to Servillo’s droll talents, it’s often pleasurable to see him at work in Ando’s unwieldy statement about current political affairs in Italy, as the film lacks finesse in nearly every other regard,...

This weekend is shaping up to mirror early fall, when specialty distributors packed theaters with new titles. Many of those disappeared quickly, and this weekend could be similar as companies usher in about a dozen limited-release theatrical newcomers. Focus Features’ The Theory Of Everything, however, has amassed a good amount of attention. Directed by Oscar winner James Marsh (Man On Wire), the Stephen Hawking biopic is opening two months after its Toronto debut. Two notable nonfiction titles also join the fray this weekend: Cinema Guild’s Actress, from director Robert Greene, and Zipporah Films’ National Gallery by nonfiction maverick Frederick Wiseman. Both deserve attention as the awards-race heats up. Two years after the theatrical bow of Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, the 16th U.S. President is the focus of Amplify’s The Better Angels — though it focuses a very different phase of his life. Distrib Films is opening Italian political...

It seems that everything old is new again in the comic world these days. Even the terrible comics of the 90’s are getting a second wind thanks to publishers such as Valiant, Image and Dark Horse. While many would rather forget about the 90’s era of comics all together, people are ready to forgive the sins of the past, and usher these characters into a new age. Honestly, did anyone think Bloodshot would be in their grab bag last year? The latest in the long-line of rebooted 90’s heroes is courtesy of Dark Horse, who are hoping the long forgotten X, can find a new place on the shelves.
Originally published in 1994, X is a definitely a child of 90’s comic rhetoric. The lone protector in the corrupt Arcadia city,...

Way back when, "inFamous" first showed up on the PlayStation 3 with a hero named Cole who looked like a light-haired emo biker, but he got a slightly more Backstreet-Boyish makeover when "inFamous 2" was announced. Sucker Punch later reverted to their earlier designs, however, and that's the look Cole is going to bring with him to the new "inFamous" comics from the Superman and Batman makers at DC.
Up until recently, DC's WildStorm imprint had been handling their video game adaptations and spin-offs, but since Ws folded, the larger DC umbrella has been absorbing such projects. That's where Cole's six-issue miniseries will come from, according to an announcement on the official PlayStation blog.
The story will be from the mind of writer William Harms, who you may know from "Wolverine: The Anniversary" at Marvel and "Impaler" at Top Cow. Artwork will be handled by Eric Nguyen, of "Halo: Helljumper" and "X-Men: First Class" fame,...

Saturday night I saw Everybody Was in the French Resistance… Now at The Casbah in San Diego and it was wonderful. The band is a side project for Art Brut frontman Eddie Argos and Dyan Valdes of The Blood Arm where the two respond to pop songs. For example, they’ve written a hilarious response to Michael Jackson’s “Billy Jean” in the form of “Billy’s Genes,” told from the prospective of the illegitimate son in question. Or how about “G.I.R.L.F.R.E.N.,” a response to Avril Lavigne’s kind of mean “Girlfriend”? Yes, we all need this in our lives.

These days its sometimes hard finding good comics to read every week and even harder finding the money to pay for all of them. There are a lot of comics coming out each week but fortunately, we here at The Flickcast care about what you read and what you spend your money on. So, with that in mind, there’s a lighter load of comics this week from a superhero mayor of New York City, to a jerk from the future to gigantic fighting robots.
My first recommendation this week is Ex Machina #42, written by Lost writer/producer Brian K. Vaughan and drawn by the brilliant Tony Harris (Starman). Easily my favorite book on the stands now, it tells the story of Mitchell Hundred the first super-hero known as the Great Machine who can get machines to do anything he wants.

Rick Remender has to be one of the most prolific writers of the current comic book generation. He not only delivers quantity but quality as well, pumping out some of the best and most fun stories that I and others in the Ugo editorial staff have read in ages. There are folks that sit around me here that haven’t been reading comics in a while and after putting the first book of Fear Agent in their hands they were quickly pulled back into the four-color world, hungry for more. Naturally, once issues of Gigantic came into the office, these same folk couldn’t wait for me to finish with them so they could start devouring them as well. Our fascination with this man’s work has caused us to speak to him about Fear Agent as well as catch up with him at the New York Comic-Con. The kind...
