This year’s Humanitas Prizes for screenwriting, usually handed out at Beverly Hilton ceremony, were announced via the Los Angeles Times this year in solidarity with the unions on strike, including the Unite Here Local 11 hospitality workers. And on top of awarding shows like The Last of Us and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Humanitas, an organization founded in 1974, also honored the striking Writers Guild of America itself with its “Voice for Change” award. Past winners of that award have included Ava DuVernay and Kenya Barris.
Humanitas’ mission is to tell “stories that explore the human experience because we believe that the act of acknowledging our common humanity is transformational.” With that in mind, this year the organization’s winners include The Last of Us‘ Craig Mazin for the teleplay for the emotional and critically lauded episode “Long, Long Time” in the drama television category. Colton Haynes will be headlining a new “Ripped From the Headlines” movie for “Lifetime.” The former “Teen Wolf” and “Arrow” star will portray two crooked twin brothers in “Swindler Seduction.”
The channel also announced the upcoming movie “An Amish Sin” with Kellie Martin, Dylan Ratzlaff and Rukiya Bernard.
Premiering on Oct. 22, “Swindler Seduction” features Haynes as a con-man who fools and steals from women like Gabrielle Graham’s Louisa, à la the “Tinder Swindler.” The inspired-by-true events thriller exposes the world of the romantic con artists, with Haynes portraying a seemingly perfect angel investor and entrepreneur named Steve who eventually swindles Louisa out of thousands of dollars. When the authorities refuse to help her, she must track him and his twin down in her attempts to seek justice for herself and other women.

Lifetime is bringing more true-crime to primetime. The network has commissioned six “Smart Justice” specials with Elizabeth Smart to serve as companion docs for its “Ripped from the Headlines” true-crime movie slate.
In each “Smart Justice” special, Smart — the woman who became famous for escaping from her abductors after being kidnapped at the age of 14 — will analyze the details of the real-life case presented in each movie.
Two other projects greenlit from the headlines: the four-hour documentary “Surviving Jeffrey Epstein,” and a new authorized biopic “I Was Lorena Bobbitt” — based on the sensationalized ’90s slashing. Bobbit will serve as an executive producer on her own biopic.
Here is the description for “I Was Lorena Bobbit.”

Lorena Bobbitt’s story is getting the biopic treatment.
Lifetime has greenlit “I Was Lorena Bobbitt,” a feature about the woman who became a household name and made tabloid headlines when she cut off her husband’s penis with a knife in 1993 after years of abuse.
Bobbitt was the subject of a Jordan Peele-produced Amazon docuseries which came out less than a year ago, and this new retelling has Bobbitt herself on board as an executive producer. Casting on the project is underway and production will begin later this month. The film, announced by A+E Networks president of programming Rob Sharenow at Lifetime’s Television Critics’ Association winter tour press day, will follow Bobbitt’s “journey from a wide-eyed, immigrant bride to a battered wife into an unlikely media sensation.”

Model and actor Trevor Donovan is most widely known as his character Teddy Montgomery from 90210. Jennifer Love Hewitt will get to know him. She is about to land the hottie on her table; her massage table, that is. I’m not sure which of the pair is luckier!
We are referring, of course, to Hewitt’s Lifetime channel series, The Client List. Donovan has lined up a guest appearance, as was reported by Zap2it.
Actually, 90210 fans were probably breathing a sigh of relief to see Donovan’s character back in action after he was missing in action for quite some time on the youthful series. Now they’ll get a double dose of Donovan if they tune into The Client List.
Donovan’s character will be an NFL quarterback. Yes, he’ll patronize who The Rub, Riley’s massage parlor that is really a den of pleasure. Hewitt’s...

Episode Title: "Blowback"
Written By: Lisa Zwerling & Barbara Nance
Story: A reinstated Agent Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes) meets up with Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport), the man who is going to call him with critical information on the day of the flash-forward. Elsewhere, Zoey (Gabrielle Union) will stop at nothing in order to make sure that Demetri Noh (John Cho) survives to their wedding day -- even if that means interfering with his job and assisting a terrorist.
Things get bleak for recovering alcoholic Aaron Stark (Brian F. O'Byrne), whose daughter Tracy (Genevieve Cortese) is on the run from a paramilitary organization called Jericho. When something happens to Tracy, Aaron declares a literal one man war against the shadowy organization.
Phoney Friends: Mark and Lloyd are on a collision course that's separate from the fact that Lloyd is presumably going to steal away the affections of Mark's wife Olivia (Sonya Walger...

Episode Title: "Playing Cards with Coyote"
Written By: Marc Guggenheim & Barbara Nance
Synopsis: A break in the Mosaic case could offer Agent Mark Benford (Joseph Fiennes) the chance to catch a mysterious gunman and change the course of his own flash-forward. The enigmatic Simon (Dominic Monaghan), meanwhile, pays Lloyd Simcoe (Jack Davenport) a visit, leading the two to a high-stakes game of cards. Elsewhere, Aaron Stark's (Brian F. O'Byrne) reunion with his long-missing daughter Tracy (Genevieve Cortese) offers a new conspiratorial angle.
Change You Can't Believe In: The suicide of Al Gough (Lee Thompson Young) in last week's episode seems to have changed the landscape for the characters of "FlashForward." All of the sudden, everyone thinks that the future can be changed. While that's certainly true — Gough did have a flash-forward and his suicide effectively put the kibosh on that — it's dangerous to believe that everything about the future is suddenly cast in doubt.

The following article was originally posted on hyperMosaic.com by Sam McPherson. You can read the original article there.
After this week's bombshell of an episode, FlashForward returns with an episode that seems to be just as much of a thrill ride. The series continues moving forward at a breakneck pace, revealing new answers to questions posed by the flashforwards of both Mark and Aaron.
The episode will also mark the return of Janis to the show after her absence from this week's episode, and will also most likely at least throw some hints about her pregnancy.
However, the most important part of the episode is destined to be the card game between Lloyd and Simon. While this material seems like it will be slightly filler-ish, I think that it'll reveal quite a lot through the characters' interactions. Who knows, we might even get so see some of the other scientists responsible for the blackout.
