Exclusive: The Black List has named the six projects and seven screenwriters invited to their 2023 Annual Lab. The program, now in its eleventh year, provides creative mentorship and career support to promising feature writers as they further develop their scripts during a weeklong workshop in Ojai, CA.
This year’s writers are Jake Burnstein and Brandon Verdi (Extra Pulp), Anne Hollister (The House Sitter), Chris Hwisu Kim (E.S.L.), Kathryn Prescott (Ema), Jainaba Seckan (But Some Of Use Are Brave), and Lisabelle Tay (Momo). The Black List has finalized the names of the six writers that will be part of their 2022 Feature Lab and will partake in a hybrid workshop that will include virtual sessions culminating in an in-person weekend intensive in Los Angeles.

Women and Film, Los Angeles and The Black List unveiled the participants of the 2020 Feature Lab and Residency on Monday. The annual program is an expansion of the original writing lab which is a joint effort between Wif and The Black List.
The program provides mentorship and career opportunities to seven rising women screenwriters over the course of a year. The Lab and Residency will include intensive script and professional development sessions, initially in online sessions to address stay-at-home requirements.
