Her nickname, "Chachita", was accidentally introduced during her second
feature film,
¡Ay Jalisco... no te rajes! (1941), when the director and producer,
Ismael Rodriguez, not
being able to remember her given name, started to refer to her as
"Muchachita"; (A term of endearment meaning "little girl"), which then
was shortened to only "Chachita".
