The 2016 Los Angeles Film Festival kicks off on Wednesday, June 1st, and this year’s Nightfall lineup looks to be yet another strong selection of genre films set to thrill festival-goers night after night.
For those of you in the southern California area, the 2016 Laff runs through Thursday, June 9th and is calling the ArcLight Culver City Cinema home this year. Here’s a look at what we’re anticipating once the Laff begins later this week, and for more information on the festival, please visit:

Abattoir (directed by Darren Lynn Bousman)
Full disclosure: Abattoir was edited by my significant other, so I am certainly biased, but my enthusiasm for the film comes from my excitement to see Bousman return to the hardboiled world of horror after working on The Devil’s Carnival musicals and his comedy-infused segment in last year’s Tales of Halloween anthology.

Washington, Apr 17: A Canadian researchers has shed light on how word-of-mouth stories affect our feelings about our experiences, insisting that our emotions change when we share them.
Sarah Moore said that when the storyteller analyzes or thinks about an emotional experience like a family vacation, it reduces the emotions, positive or negative, about the event.
However, she noted that for practical experiences, such as buying and using a Usb stick, analysing and thinking more about the experience will amplify our feelings about it, be they positive or negative.
Moore, an assistant professor with the Alberta School of Business, said this is one important area of consumer research that remains virtually unexplored.

Am I dreaming, or is this really Julianne Moore? I mean, look at her, she looks exactly like Sarah Palin!
Ok, you already know that we’re talking about the upcoming HBO movie titled Game Change, directed by Jay Roach, and based on Mark Halperin and John Heilemann‘s 2010 bestseller of the same name, so please take a look at this photo and tell me, is this Julianne Palin or Sarah Moore?
Ok, enough joking, this is the real thing. Whoever thought that Moore is the perfect choice to play Pallin on a big screen was damn right!
Production on Game Change started yesterday, and the whole thing is written by Danny Strong, while Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are executive producers.
All eyes on Moore right now, but the rest of the cast also includes Ed Harris as John McCain, Woody Harrelson as Steve Schmidt, McCain’s senior, Melissa Farman as Bristol Palin,...
