The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 22
One of the better things about the final season of The Walking Dead is that once again it feels like a show where all bets are off. Aside from the few people who have spin-off shows in the works, we’re back to what Joe Bob Briggs always called the number one rule of a good drive-in movie: anybody can die at any moment. Granted, that hasn’t actually happened on screen yet, but throughout “Faith” the viewer is never allowed a chance to rest easy, particularly where the prisoner portion of the show is concerned.
It wouldn’t be like this iteration of The Walking Dead to pull the trigger, but the old version of The Walking Dead never got to use this many obscenities in its dialog. Maybe the only rule is there are no rules,...

The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 16
One last mid-season finale, and that will be all she wrote for The Walking Dead. One of the biggest hits in cable television history, The Walking Dead spawned a zombie renaissance, all without using the Z-word. Two spin-off shows have already hit the airwaves, with one more definitely on the way and two other ones announced. That’s not counting all of the other media that spun up either as a response to or to ride the coattails of The Walking Dead like the brilliant Black Summer. There’ll be time to look at the legacy of the show later; for now, we’ve got “Acts of God” to witness.
At this point, The Walking Dead has a good handle on what the show does well and what the show doesn’t do well, and as such, “Acts...

The Walking Dead Season 11 Episode 4
Has anyone on The Walking Dead been through as much as Daryl Dixon? He’s been tortured several times at this point, including the most insidious torture method ever devised by Negan. He’s been injured in pretty much every possible way someone can be injured. His motorcycles have long since stopped running. His friends won’t let him retreat into the woods like the smelly hermit he longs to be. The only love affair he’s had on the show has ended in ambivalent tragedy. To be fair, he’s got the coolest weapon and the coolest (only?) Dog, but aside from that, he’s watched pretty much every one of his friends and his last remaining family member suffer and die around him, and yet “Rendition” finds a new and different way to torture him courtesy...

Women’s Weekend Film Challenge (Wwfc) is launching a pilot accelerator program for writers to pitch female-centric content.
The program, which will see emerging TV writers pitching beginning in October of this year, was designed to help such writers advance their careers, as well as to increase the representation of women non-binary people working in television.
“So many members of our community have pilot scripts ready to go but no one to pitch to,” Wwfc co-founder Tracy Sayre said in a statement. “This gap became especially apparent over the last year as we’ve hosted weekly virtual workshops; far and away, the most popular events have centered around how to pitch and how to break into the writers room. This accelerator is a natural response to the career goals of our community.”
Wwfc is accepting applications for the accelerator on FilmFreeway from June 17 to July 21, 2021. The program will take place virtually.

The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 18
As far as episodes of The Walking Dead go, “Home Sweet Home” will not be considered one of the brighter lights of the vastly improved season 10, thought it was very far from the nadir of the series. This show has been better and it has also been much worse. Overall, The Walking Dead is trending up under the direction of show runner Angela Kang, thanks to a focus on improved writing over twists, spectacle, and cliffhangers on a show that has never needed them. Generally, that has paid off, and no episode exemplifies that new focus more than “Find Me” does this week.
Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) has become the heart of The Walking Dead, and fans are always going to want more of him, especially when he pairs off with his platonic soul mate Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride...

The 12th episode of The Walking Dead season 10, titled “Walk With Us,” opens with a riveting and apocalyptic battle sequence that ends way too quickly. It’s a five-minute scene in which everything in the settlement is on fire, including the mansion at its center. Fast cuts of Daryl, Carol, Ezekiel, Rosita, Aaron, Yumiko, Eugene, Lydia, and more fighting off the walker horde with archaic weapons drive the scene toward its inevitable conclusion –the Hilltop won’t survive this Whisperer assault. The heroes must abandon their home.
The beautifully-shot fall of the Hilltop ranks among director Greg Nicotero’s very best contributions to the series. Set at night in a backdrop of bright flames, it plays like The Walking Dead‘s own version of “The Long Night.” It’s a shame that AMC didn’t give the show the budget to stretch this battle...

The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 12
In the earlier incarnations of The Walking Dead, the show made big, bold moves, whether they fit with the continuity of the comic book or not. Owing to instability behind the scenes, and actors wishing to move onto other work, The Walking Dead was no stranger to killing off major characters when it fit the story they were trying to tell.
There were no helicopter flights to nowhere or van trips with Georgie; people died, and usually in horrible ways. Some of these deaths were expected—some actors with expiring contracts were pretty certainly doomed by season’s end due to acrimony with producers—and others were huge surprises; generally, it felt like no one was off limits, except for a few characters who ended up dead or off the show in later seasons for reasons that ended...

The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 2
Alpha, thus far, has been a character that's been dripped out in small doses along the course of The Whisperers arc. She's been present, and she's been in charge, but very little is known about how she pulled the group together.
All that's been on screen is how she escaped from her initial survivor group as told by an unreliable narrator in Lydia. The story kept changing until the truth eventually came out, despite Alpha's best efforts to brainwash her daughter into compliance. But how did Alpha transition into wearing the skin of the dead as camouflage and how did she gather up a group of like-minded survivors remains a mystery, save for one key follower,...

NCIS, Season 10, Episode 20: “Chasing Ghosts”
Written by Nicole Mirante-Matthews
Directed by Arvin Brown
Airs Tuesdays at 8pm (Et) on CBS
Opening with a recap, “Chasing Ghosts” gets back on track by focusing on Ziva’s discreet pursuit of Ilan Bodnar, the man responsible for the deaths of Eli David and Jackie Vance.
The episode deals less with the progress of Ziva’s manhunt and more with Tony’s suspicions of her, flipping the perspective from her grief, to his concern for her. His sleuth mode initiates enjoyable banter between him and McGee, whose deception in the end sets up possible conflict between the two in the future, hopefully further explored as the season reaches its climax. While he’s usually invading his co-worker’s work space with the intent of exposing their secrets, Tony’s loyalty to Ziva on a more personal level suggests that he’s more likely...
