- The film directed by Warren Beatty (2016) "Rules Don't Apply" is based upon the actual relationship of Bobby Miles, Vera Miles and Howard Hughes. Bobby was a driver and courier for Hughes starting in 1948. He married Vera when she was a contract player for Hughes which was strictly against the rules per Howard Hughes. Bobby was fired. He remained married to Vera Miles for 6 years.
- Raised in Utah and came to California in the late 40s where he met and married actress Vera Miles in 1948. Began as a stuntman in the early 50s. Vera kept his surname of Miles after their divorce in 1954.
