Megna's Broadway success at age 7 in 1960's "All the Way Home" led to
his being cast as 'Dill', the toothy young summer visitor, in To Kill a Mockingbird (1962)
with Gregory Peck. The character of 'Dill' was based on author Harper Lee's
childhood friend, writer Truman Capote.
He was the founding director of L.A. Arts, a nonprofit theater group in Los Angeles.
Father was a druggist; mother a one-time night club singer.
Attended Holy Cross High School, Flushing, Queens, New York, starting in September, 1966. He later graduated from Cornell University, having majored in Performing Arts.
