The brother of former EastEnders actress Gemma McCluskie has been jailed for life after being found guilty of her murder. Tony McCluskie, 35, from Shoreditch, East London admitted to killing his 25-year-old sister, but denied murder. EastEnders actress Gemma McCluskie was killed by her brother after an argument about an overflowing sink, a court heard today (January 14). The trial of Tony McCluskie, who stands accused of murdering his 29-year-old sibling, began at the Old Bailey this morning. The brother of British soap actress Gemma McCluskie has been charged with her murder.
Law enforcement officials hauled a headless and limbless torso out of Regent's Canal in London on 6 March and cops have since confirmed the body to be that of missing EastEnders actress McCluskie, who disappeared on 29 February.
The star's elder brother Tony was arrested for questioning during a police raid on the family home the following day and now the 35 year old has been charged with his sister's murder.
Tony McCluskie appeared in Thames Magistrates' Court on Monday and was remanded in custody for a future bail hearing.
A preliminary court date has been set for 26 March, according to the Daily Mail.
Police divers are still searching for the young star's remaining body parts and fans have set up an impromptu memorial beside the canal to honour McCluskie.
An official cause of death is still pending after a post-mortem examination proved inconclusive.

The results are still pending but detectives suspect the remains are that of the former EastEnders star.
