- Making her final movie Interlude (1968) in the summer of 1967, the movie was released the following year. She went on to posthumously win the National Board of Review award.
- Peter Sellers reportedly wanted to have her replaced in the movie Only Two Can Play (1962) but was rebuffed by director Sidney Gilliat. She earned some of the best reviews in the movie.
- Hobby: poetry, some of which was published.
- Her husband, Sir Geoffrey Adams Shakerley, 6th Baronet, remarried after her suicide in 1968. He wed Elizabeth Georgiana Anson Elizabeth Anson.
- Her likeness is replicated in the character of Number Twenty Seven in The Simpsons episode The Computer Wore Menace Shoes (2000).
