Chemagne Martin is a Toronto-based Costumer who studied Fashion Design at George Brown College and has been working in different positions in the costume department since 2013, such as, Costume Buyer / Shopper, Set Supervisor, Truck Supervisor and BG On Set (extras costumes). Thoughts about a career in costuming started when Chemagne was designing costumes for a few dance troupes in Toronto. As a Costume Designer, she's professional and responsible for creating the visual appearance of characters in movies, television shows, plays and other performances. Chemagne is great at researching and creating designs and collaborating with production teams. She is also known for sourcing fabrics and materials with great detail in fitting and alterations so she keeps production on budget. In her spare time, Chemagne continues to be involved in her own projects designing Sci - Fi headpieces and costumes.

Chemagne Martin is a multi-faceted artist who has been working in the arts and entertainment industry for over 20 years. A professional Bellydance dance performer and instructor for 21 years; Chemagne's style combines years of experience as a dancer and yoga practitioner with a love for dance and movement. Chemagne has been featured on television shows and magazines, like Health and Lifestyle Magazine Canada, Diva Girl Dish, the Caribbean Current, SMJ Magazine, Rogers Daytime Toronto, CP24 Breakfast TV, and Three TakesTalk Show. She has also been a guest speaker at women's conferences, such as The Canadian International Black Women's Event (CIBWE), The Diva Girl Conference, and the Ignite n' Connect event hosted by Positive Fabulous Women. Other credits include, Owner/Operator of Chemange Dance Studio from 2009 - 2012, 2nd place winner at the Fitness Star Competition in 2009, and dance choreographer for Miss Black Beauty Canada in 2012. In 2014, Chemagne launched her instructional DVD, "Chemagne Bellydance for Beginners Vol. 1", and released her Bellydance CD music album "Chemagne 1010" in 2016. She was also nominated for Best Traditional Dance Artist by the Black Canadian Awards Association in 2014, and in 2015 and recognized by the CIWBE as Canada's 100 Black Women To Watch. Chemagne has taught classes and workshops at many studios in Toronto, and has performed at various venues and special events across North America like St. Lawrence Centre for the arts, Toronto Centre for the arts, Nathan Phillips Square, Harbourfront Centre, Irie Music Festival, International Jerk and Jazz, Toronto African Festival, Miss Black Beauty Canada, and Rakkasah West in San Francisco, to name a few.
