The Chicago P.D. hiatus ended with a new episode on Wednesday night.
When we last saw the show, Dante Torres was finishing up an undercover case to bring down a drug boss, Rafel Perez (Julio Cedillo).
During that case, Torres became romantically involved with the wife of Rafel Perez, Gloria Perez (Yara Martinez).
In a dramatic conclusion, Gloria killed Rafel. Rather than run, she told Torres she was remaining in Chicago. It could mean the story circles back later.
Also, earlier this season, the Chicago P.D. cast added actress Bojana Novakovic as Detective Josephine Petrovic. The quirky detective helped Intelligence on several cases, but Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) became suspicious of her and discovered a drinking problem.
A serial killer also remained on the loose, but this new episode was focused on a separate case.

The new episode of Chicago P.D. returned viewers to the undercover operation Dante Torres has been working on.
It was revealed that Torres had been undercover for 36 days when the episode began. He was trying to take down the Rafael Perez drug ring (played by Julio Cesar Cedillo).
Torres was already getting too deep and had been sleeping with his informant. Actress Yara Martinez was back to continue her role as Gloria Perez (wife of the drug boss).
Rather than getting closer to answers, Torres had been relegated to working as a mechanic for the drug ring. But since the episode was focusing on him, it was clear something was about to happen.
The worse Perez treated Gloria, the more time she wanted to spend with Torres. It led to even more complications with the case.
Meanwhile, Torres spotted that a cousin to Perez was who he was leaning on...

Is that really the last we've seen of Gloria Perez?
With Chicago Pd Season 11 Episode 9's open-ending, there's always the chance that she'll pop back up again sometime down the road, and if she does, it's hard to know what to think about her and Torres' future together.
After all, could she really be free of everything, or would she take over for her husband instead?
She mentioned that she was sticking around Chicago, and she's a character who moved in silence and did her fair share of shady things, so I put nothing past the woman.
But almost jeopardized Dante Torres' career and life during this installment, and he was too stupid for her to realize how he nearly lost it all.
We spent the entire hour hearing about how Torres and Gloria were one and the same, two sides of the same coin and had this deep connection.

Chicago P.D. is finally circling back to the Gloria Perez case.
This means Officer Dante Torres will be the member of Intelligence that the next new episode focuses on.
As Chicago P.D. fans have noticed, the show shifts between characters now, with singular episodes focusing on a character rather than the team.
This shift in presentation continues with a new episode called Somos Uno, where viewers learn what Torres (played by Benjamin Levy Aguilar) has been up to while undercover.
The Chicago P.D. cast introduced Yara Martinez as Gloria Perez earlier this season.
Perez became an informant for Torres as Intelligence worked to take down a drug ring. Things got messy at the end of that episode when Perez and Torres became intimate during the case.

We are two episodes into Season 11 of Chicago P.D., and Officer Dante Torres has not appeared.
The Intelligence team member joined the show to replace Detective Jay Halstead (played by Jesse Lee Soffer).
Torres was brought in by Halstead to help the team but ended up taking the open slot, thanks to Hank Voight (Jason Beghe).
Actor Benjamin Levy Aguilar works well on the show and brings something fresh to a group that has been together for years.
But Chicago P.D. fans have many questions after his character vanished for the first two episodes of Season 11.
A throwaway line at the beginning of the season premiere revealed that Torres was furloughed to spend time with his mom.

The networks in Latin America’s biggest markets — Globo, Telefe and Televisa — are fighting back against long-term digital erosion.
Last year in Brazil, Globo delivered its best all-day performance in eight years, averaging 14 rating points, according to market research shingle the Wit. Argentine Telefe’s “Sandro” is a ratings phenomenon. But the big question is how long this rally can last.
Over 2015-17, Globo’s free-to-air daily reach grew 6%, says Silvio de Andreu, Globo drama head. One standout: 160-episode “The Edge of Desire,” from Brazil’s well-known scribe Gloria Perez (“The Clone”), which averaged a 48 million reach.
Bowing March 5, “Sandro,” about the Latin American music icon, hit 16.9 ratings points by episode six, becoming Argentina’s most-watched 2018 program so far.
Surprisingly, “Sandro” took little away from its free-to-air competition, notes producer Juan Parodi: “Netflix and Amazon viewers have come back to free TV,” he says.
