- A multi-genre composer, sound designer and music editor, Billy Mallery draws a wide variety of projects ranging from feature films to corporate logos, and has been considered by many to be a "one stop shop" given his skills in both music and sound. His experience scoring national commercials at the start of his career led him to diversify as an artist and produce numerous styles of music. Within five years out of college he had composed and arranged for full orchestras, scored his first feature film and won both CLIO and AICP awards for excellence in original music and sound design.
Billy has scored and edited the works of directors David Fincher, Michael Bay, Janusz Kaminski and Zack Snyder, and has collaborated with such companies as Lionsgate, Microsoft and Lucasfilm.
His score for the Lionsgate Logo, performed by the Seattle Symphony and Choir, was released with the film "Catching Fire" (The Hunger Games) and earned him a Mobius Award and HMMA Award nomination.
The Earth Communications Office (ECO), known for producing global-awareness content, chose Billy to score Hidden City, which was translated into 13 languages and released in theaters and on television worldwide. He was honored to be selected as composer following ECO's critically acclaimed production The Power of One, composed by Hans Zimmer.
Billy's wide range of experience in music production, scoring and music editing has earned him invitations to speak on entertainment industry panels at UCLA and his alma mater Syracuse University. He has served as a juror for the CLIO Awards and is featured in the feature documentary The Universal Language which explores the power of music within our culture and our history.
