His second wife, Gwladys Morgan (1888-1974), was an American physician who also wrote stories and poems about Wales for young adults.
Lived in Mexico for several years where his father worked as a mining engineer.
Best remembered for "Don Swashbuckler" (1898), "The Missourian" (1905), "Lone Star" (1907), "The Transformation of Krag" (1911); and "Castaways' Island" (1925).
