- Love is like a flower, even the most beautiful kind dies.
- There are three types of fire: Fire of the mind, fire of the heart, and just fire.
- Nowadays, kids have no idea what a hen looks like. They think eggs grow on trees.
- [asked about his first experience with drugs] When I was nine my dad poured me a schnapps, and I had to drink it... Well, I didn't have, but it was good.
- We're from the East [East Germany, GDR] and grew up as socialists. We used to be punks or goths - we hate Nazis! And then we suddenly get such a far-fetched accusation [that they would be on the right spectrum]. We are doing still the same today, and nobody in America or Mexico would get the idea to impute such things on us. That only happens here in Germany. Our reply to these hostilities was "Links 2 3 4", with that we have clarified where we politically stand.
- [Christoph Schneider making noises by tapping his feet and drumming his knees with his drumsticks; Till is getting his make-up done nearby] Schneider, can you step out for a second? I can't concentrate with your tapping! [Schneider grins and continues with the noises]
- I never liked the sport school [I attended] actually, it was very intense. But as a child you don't object.
- [2011] Flake is a GDR citizen, he still is, he will die as a GDR citizen. Flake doesn't do holidays abroad either. At most, he will travel to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains or the Baltic Sea, which is sufficient for him. We always travel to the Mecklenburg Lake Plateau in summer with our children. This is totally awesome.
- I sing really darkly and then all of a sudden, "I want to fuuuuck!" [laughs] It gave my mom a hard time.
- Oh, my kids know me, and they know the Rammstein's history. It's hard to shock them. I got punished, in the sense that they're really big Coldplay fans.
- [1997 [How does your daughter respond to the lyrics of Rammstein?] She's always giggling. She doesn't understand the extreme things yet.
- "Willst du bis der Tod euch scheidet..." - that's just as unnatural as a tattoo on your arm. This will stay for the rest of your life. One day my grandchild will sit on my lap and will ask me what for a silly thing I got there on my arm.
- I met him Richard Kruspe in Schwerin. He attracted my attention because of his funny haircut: He had a long ponytail, short at the front with blonde streaks - basically, he looked like a stripy squirrel.
- When I was an adolescent, I was obsessed with having many commercial things, cars, clothes, stupid things. Now that I have all that, I understand that the superfluous things can turn to you into a very stupid idiot-type. In East Germany there were very few things, but there was also a feeling of solidarity that no longer exists. Now we are up to the neck in consumption, the ego, the individualism. Now before friendship, it is merchandise.
- I'm really like a big child - ill-mannered, but harmless. People think that I'm always strong and explosive. This is not true. I am sensitive and thin-skinned, and when in love, romantic and passionate.
- [on Covid-19] For society, it's an absolute catastrophe. For me personally, it was the best thing that could have happened. For the first time in 20 years I got to spend an entire spring in the countryside in Mecklenburg. First came the cherries, then the apples; I experienced it from bare tree to full bloom.
- I wasn't really happy on stage. I wore sunglasses as I couldn't stand the stares. I had stage fright and thought, what am I doing here at all? I used to be a drummer, and then I always had something to do. Now, I was standing there, up front, and everyone was staring at me. It was uncomfortable for me, so I wanted to compensate for that somehow. That's where the fire came into play. It started out with two fountains a friend had given me once. Later, we also poured gasoline throughout the room and lit it with those two fountains, so the whole floor was on fire. This has kept developing over the years.
- [on the real-life event that inspired Rammstein's song "Mein Teil"] It's so sick that it becomes fascinating and there just has to be a song about it.
- Fire is the thing that immediately catches the eye and attracts attention. Fire can only be compared to women - you can love or hate them, and in both cases there is a great danger of being burned.
- I remember - rather accidentally - smashing my maths teacher's car window. My parents said: 'He has to get off the streets.' Diagonally across the street was a swimming hall, so my mother signed me up for training and I became a competitive athlete. By force.
- We can't help the way we are. We don't really try to do things that some may view as strange or outrageous. It is just us doing what we do. It is a product of our backgrounds, our interests and our music. They all come together when ever we make music and create Rammstein.
- I got the idea for [the Lindemann song] 'Fat' after watching a documentary about so-called 'feeders'. Men who feed up their wives so they can't do anything anymore. It gives them a kick. Or it arouses them. I have no idea. Taking care of their fully expanded wives becomes a day job. I find things like that fascinating. We're still living in a world with a very compelling ideal of beauty. Fat women are still pushed into a corner. They are rejected based on how they look. With this song I want to encourage them. 'You are worth being here, show yourself.' And yes, I love a fuller woman myself. Curves have a nicer feel than skin over bone.
- [about his first visit to the United States with Richard and Oliver during which their car was towed away, and misunderstanding the word "fine"] Fine? Is it fine? Dann wollten se aber Geld haben. (But then they wanted money.)
- The singer is often seen like that [in a leader role], but I only know how to sing. We are like workers of a building site, each one has his role. As proof, we share all our profits equally.
