Gothic Horror Survival Game ‘When the Light Dies’ Sees You Surviving the Frozen Wilderness [Trailer]
Get ready for more horror survival gaming with PQube and developer Electric Monkeys’ When The Light Dies, a gothic survival game with roguelite elements that’s set in a desolate, frozen wilderness. Taking a bit of inspiration from Poncle’s Vampire Survivors, according to PQube’ Harrison Lewis, the team drew heavily upon Dan Simmons‘ novel “The Terror”, a fictionalized account of the 1840s expedition to the Northway Passage.
When The Light Dies sees players step into a murky world of shadow and obscurity as a lone survivor fighting to keep the darkness and the horrors that lurk within at bay. You’ll be utilizing an arsenal of weapons to hold back waves of creatures closing in on you, but you’ll also have to contend with having to light firepits and refill your oil lantern to stave off the encroaching darkness.
