- Po-Chih Leong was born in 1939 in Northampton, England, UK. He is a director and writer, known for Immortality (1998), The Jade Pendant (2017) and Shanghai 1920 (1991).
- His mother is Lai Jing Woo, who was born 4 December 1913 in Shun Tuck Yoon, Guang Dong, China. She now lives in the Los Angeles area.
- His brother is the artist Po Shun Leong, who was born 15 March 1941 in Northampton, England, but lives in Southern California since 1981.
- His father was Ah Yow Leong, who was born in Toisan in Southern China around 1891 and jumped ship in Liverpool about the time of the First World War. He started washing clothes before founding the Leong Trading Company, importing goods from Hong Kong to England. When Japan occupied Hong Kong he lost his ship. He then opened the Universal Chinese Restaurant at 11 Denmark Street in Soho, London. He died in London in 1948 after falling down the stairs.
