How many stars went on to massive popularity after Xena: Warrior Princess? Hudson Leick had a very interesting role in the show as Callisto, but after that things didn’t really take off in a big way if anyone can recall. But to be fair about it, she has managed to continue her career to this day and is easily claimed as a skilled actress that has taken on a few roles in her life that have been kind of interesting. The thing about taking on TV roles and minor roles in movies that don’t get a lot of hype is

You don’t need to consult the statistics, watch re-runs of Breaking Bad (or a cheesy Lifetime special) or tune into Sally-Jessie (or any barrel-bottom-scraping talk show) to know that addiction is one of the most destructive real-life horrors a person is likely to confront. And within the realm of genre television, addiction can be even deadlier. Listed below are five characters whose addictive personalities got them in all kinds of trouble: pillaging, alien child snatchers, train massacres, apocalyptic phases and cannibalistic fine dining. Not even cognitive behavioral therapy could help these guys....

It seems the Warrior Princess will never die (good news to those of us who still haven't gotten over the series finale). This was supposed to be the last year the Annual Xena: Warrior Princess Convention would be held, but fan outcry caused its organizers to relent, and it's official: there will be a Xena Con 2013. After that, who knows?
Stars Lucy Lawless (Xena) and Renee O'Connor (Gabrielle) are appearing this weekend, along with fan favorites Hudson Leick (Callisto), Adrienne Wilkinson (Eve/Livia), writer/producer Steven Sears, writer Katherine Fugate (Army Wives, Valentine's Day, The Prince and Me), Claire Stansfield (Alti), Jacqueline Kim (Lao Ma), Brittney Powell (Brunhilda), and more. AfterEllen.com photographer KT Jorgensen is wielding her cameras on our behalf, as she has for the last four years (All images used with permission.

U.K. retail giant Tesco is releasing its film adaptation of a Jackie Collins novel. "Paris Connections" will be the company's first foray into filmmaking, with a straight-to-dvd that will go on sale exclusively in its stores.
The film is Tesco's first project, with the hopes of making two more films this year. The company also signed up authors Philip Pullman, Judy Blume and Felix Francis. Blume's "Tiger Eyes" is being eyed as Tesco's next film.
Director Harley Cokeliss is working on with stars Nicole Steinwedell, Charles Dance, Hudson Leick, Anthony Delon, Trudie Styler, Anouk Aimee, and Caroline Chikezie for the film.
According to the Guardian, a straight-to-dvd movie sold exclusively in Tesco is the brainchild of Ileen Maisel, a former New Line Cinema producer. The idea is to take well-known authors and adapt their bestselling novels into "video books."...

Added Season 2 Episode 14 A Necessary Evil episode review by Sheryl-Lee. My favourite psycho is back..always great to see Hudson as Callisto. Lucy and Hudson had some great onscreen chemistry. It sizzled. When the ruthless Amazon Velasca (Melinda Clarke) achieves immortality by consuming some Ambrosia, Xena (Lucy Lawless) devises a plot to defeat her by pitting her against the immortal Callisto (Hudson Leick). 16 February is a very sad day in Xenaverse history. On this day in 2002 we lost Kevin in a tragic accident in China. I remember when the news hit; wasn't sure if it was a cruel hoax or if it was real. A good majority of the webmasters emailed each other to find out if it was indeed real and it was sadly very true. At the time there was a convention underway in Pasadena and the news filtered through which had a huge impact on those present. Virginia and Lourdes wrote a report which included the following:
With the tragic news of Kevin Smith’s death, everyone was sad including the stars on stage. Renee O’Connor, Ted Raimi, Hudson Leick, Victoria Pratt, Alexandra Tydings, Alexis Arquette, Bruce Campbell, Steve Sears and Lucy Lawless (live telephone call) paid tribute to Kevin. Touching words and remembrances were shared at that sad moment.

This is a mini report to just throw a couple highlights out there until the full con reports start coming in. *hint*hint*
Lucy Lawless told hilarious tales from the set of Bedtime Stories, provided us with helpful information on caring for baby squirrels and commented on her role on The Angel of Death web series. The magnificient and much-missed Claire Stansfield crashed Lucy's panel to touch upon her continuing obsession with Shane, her son's treatment of an Alti-Barbie and her work for Oprah.
Renee O'Connor's movie Words Unspoken premiered at the convention, ready for the film festival circuit. It is a wonderfully acted piece that will no doubt get the recognition it deserves. Two clips were shown from the upcoming web-series The Ark, looks like an engaging mysterious scif-fi with a lot of potential.
The Nz power couple, Michael Hurst and Jennifer Ward-Leland shared a wonderful slideshow of their awe-inspiring carreer.

In case you're looking around your hometown and wondering where all the lesbians have gone, they're in Los Angeles at the 14th Annual Xena Convention.
Proving that geekiness is always in fashion, hundreds of fans of the groundbreaking female-centric action/adventure/fantasy series starring Lucy Lawless as a warrior with a dark past and Renee O'Connor as her soul mate and sidekick will spend the weekend loving on the show and its stars.
Unlike the last two years, I wasn't able to be in Los Angeles this weekend. My mother is ill and not even Xena matters more to me than my mom. But AfterEllen.com's KT Jorgensen, who has photographed the convention for the last two years along with me, is phoning and texting in reports, and will be uploading photos all weekend. She'll...

Season 2: Episode 7 Intimate Stranger. Added Sheryl-Lee's excellent review of this great episode. It's one of my all time favourites - love how Lucy becomes Hudson as Callisto and Hudson becomes Lucy as Xena. Two extremely talented actors...a joy to watch.
With the help of Ares (Kevin Smith) in the Underworld, Callisto (Hudson Leick) switches bodies with Xena (Lucy Lawless) and returns to the land of the living where the two women warriors battle once more, this time disguised as each other.
