Kallang (Singapore), June 8 (Ians) India’s campaign at the Singapore Open Super 750 badminton tournament came to an end after Kidambi Srikanth lost his Round of 16 men’s singles match against Chia Hao Lee of Chinese Taipei, here on Thursday.
World no 23 Srikanth, who defeated Thailand’s Kantaphon Wangcharoen in the first round, suffered 15-21, 19-21 straight games loss at the hands of the world no 42 Taipei shuttler, in what was the pair’s first meeting.
Earlier in the day, young singles’ player Priyanshu Rajawat and the doubles duo of M.R. Arjun and Dhruv Kapila crashed out after their respective second round losses.
Rajawat, who caused a big upset by beating World No.15 Kanta Tsuneyama of Japan in the opening round, went down to another Japanese, Kodai Naraoka in straight games at the Singapore Indoor Stadium 1. The 21-year-old Indian lost 17-21, 16-21 to Naraoka in a 47-minute encounter in the Bwf World Tour Super 750 event.

Saarbrucken (Germany), Nov 5 (Ians) Ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth reached the semifinal of the Hylo Open 2022 Bwf Super 300 tournament, beating Jonatan Christie of Indonesia in the men’s singles quarterfinals, here on Friday.
The 29-year-old made a strong start against the seventh-ranked Indonesian by scoring nine of the last 11 points to win the first game. Jonatan, the 2018 Asian Games champion, made a late surge in the second game but the Indian shuttler managed to seal the match 21-13, 21-19 in 39 minutes.
World No.11 Srikanth will be up against fifth-seeded Anthony Ginting of Indonesia in the semifinals on Saturday. Ginting has won three of the five previous matches against Srikanth, the last time at the All-England Open in March.
On the other hand, the young women’s doubles pair Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand beat Chinese Taipei’s Hsu Ya Ching and Lin Wan Ching in three games in the quarterfinals.

Randolph Scott plays a bounty hunter returning a former Indian captive in “Comanche Station,” a 1960 Columbia release directed by Bud Boetticher and written by western regular Burt Kennedy.
Jefferson Cody (Scott) trades rifles and other items with a group of Comanche Indians in exchange for a captive settler, Nancy Lowe (Nancy Gates). Her husband has offered a large reward for her return. After the exchange they’re met by outlaw Ben Lane (Claude Akins) and his sidekicks Frank (Skip Homeier) and Dobie (Richard Rust) who help Cody during an Indian attack at Comanche Station. Lane and Cody are old enemies and he and his men have been searching for Nancy. Lane wants a piece of the $5,000 reward in return for helping protect Nancy on the journey to her husband. Cody reluctantly agrees and forms an uneasy alliance due to the Indian threat.
