Netflix's global phenomenon Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness made a roaring return for a special episode on Easter Sunday, and it was filled with the outlandish twists that defined the initial seven episodes.
The cast had no idea the series would blow up in the way that it did, but not everyone returned for the special, which was hosted by Joel McHale and titled "The Tiger King and I."
In case you've been living under a rock, we'll offer up some context here:
Joe Exotic (real name Maldonado-Passage), is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence after being convicted on 17 charges of animal abuse and two counts of murder for hire after an alleged plot murder-for-hire plot to kill Carole Baskin went sideways.
The special brought Eric Cowie, Jeff and Lauren Lowe, John Reinke, Kelci “Saff” Saffery, Josh Dial, John Finlay, and Joe Exotic TV producer Rick Kirkman to...

Can't stop talking about Tiger King? Hoping for more? You're in luck! In a near-inappropriate announcement video, Joel McHale revealed that he's hosting a brand new episode of Tiger King. It's a sort of after show, featuring brand new interviews with subjects of the docuseries, including John Reinke, Joshua Dial, John Finlay, Saff, Erik Cowie, Rick Kirkman, and Jeff and Lauren Lowe, with updates on where they are all now after the release of the series. Apparently we won't be hearing from Carole Baskin or Joe Exotic's current husband Dillon Passage. "It's going to be eye-opening, and hopefully funny," McHale says in the video, while shirtless, draped in animal print...

Netflix announced Thursday that a “Tiger King” after-show hosted by Joel McHale will premiere on Sunday.
The show’s Jeff Lowe, who took over the Oklahoma exotic animal zoo from Joe Exotic, had recently hinted that a new episode would be coming this week. The teaser for the eighth installment features McHale wearing a cowboy hat and promising that he talked to several of the show’s subjects about what’s been happening in their lives.
Among the show’s subjects appearing in the new episode are Joe Exotic’s ex-husband John Finlay, Saff, reality show producer Rick Kirkman and Lowe and his wife Lauren — but notably not Carole Baskin or Joe Maldonado-Passage, aka Joe Exotic, who is currently in a prison medical facility in Texas.
However Joe Exotic did give Netflix an update from prison recently, explaining, “I’m done with the Carole Baskin saga.”

Bbxx By Jerry Scott and Rick Kirkman 335 pages, Andrews McMeel Publishing, $35 In the early days of 1990, a brand new comic strip debuted, perfect for parents of young children and universal in its humor. Coming from veteran writer Jerry Scott with art by Rick Kirkman, Baby Blues was a pretty quick hit, still running in hundreds of papers. Now in its 23rd year, Andrews McMeel recently celebrated the success with the release of Bbxx: Baby Blues Decades 1 & 2. Unlike a lot of strip collections, this comes with extensive commentary from both creators, annotating and riffing on what prompted particularly strips, gags, characters, and visuals. As a result, this becomes an interesting look back at the development and evolution of a strip that went from two parents and an infant to a five-member family. It caught fire quickly, earning the Ruben Award for Best Comic Strip of the Year in 1995. Looking back, Kirkman...

Yeah, it’s not strictly a film, but it’s thoroughly cinematic in its outlook, no? Plus zombies are very cool. That’s an atomic fact. Frank Darabont’s Walking Dead t.v. series going to be the television event of the year? It’s shooting now in Atlanta, Georgia eyeing an October airing, which will hopefully be staggered out across the world.
Last week Darabont regular Jeffrey DeMunn joined the cast and the latest addition to proceedings is Prison Break’s Sarah Wayne Callies as Lori Grimes, wife of lead character, Rick Grimes.
Based on Rick Kirkman’s comic series, The Walking Dead sees a disparate band of survivors making their way through a world in which lunch is constantly on the menu: it’s them! British actor Andrew Lincoln will be up to his neck in zombie offal and innards alongside Brandon Routh and Jon Bernthal. Kirkman seems...

After having watched George A. Romero’s Survival Of The Dead this weekend, I very much have an appetite for all things zombie-related. When done right, meaning, when they’re slow, cumbersome and repetitive, the zombies take on a fragile, spooky beauty. “We’re them and they’re us,” as a character says in Dawn of the Dead. It’s ever so true. When they run like Olympic athletes some of the subtly is lost. The Hollywood Reporter have it that Frank Darabont (The Mist was amazing!) and Gale Ann Hurd are collaborating with t.v. channel AMC to produce The Walking Dead as a t.v. series.
The Walking Dead is set in a world ravaged by cannibals…dead ones. It is based on the comic book series by Rick Kirkman and focuses on a collection of characters making their way in the world. Jonny Lee Miller is rumoured to be playing Rick Grimes,...

Eight cartoonists have been visiting with American troops recovering from action-related injuries at both Washington’s Walter Reed Hospital and at German’s Landstuhl Regional Medical Center.
According to a report from Stars and Stripes, Chip Bok (editorial cartoonist at Akron Beacon-Journal), Jeff Keane (Family Circus), Rick Kirkman (Baby Blues), Mike Peters (Mother Goose & Grimm), Mike Luchovich (editorial cartoonist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution), Walt Handlesman (editorial cartoonist for Newsday), Stephan Pastis (Pearls Before Swine), and Tom Richmond (Mad Magazine) have been traveling together along with military artists and others.
The National Cartoonist Society members broke in to groups and scoured the wards, sitting beside soldiers and sketching away, often doing caricatures as they chatted and presenting them as tokens of appreciation.
"You guys are awesome," Jesse Stephenson said upon receiving a drawing. "You guys are awesome."
"You’re awesome," Peters told him in return.
