- Ali Khamraev was born on May 19, 1937 in Tashkent, Uzbekskaya SSR, USSR [now Uzbekistan]. He is a director and writer, known for I Remember You (1985), Bo Ba Bu (1998) and Chrezvychainyy komissar (1970).

- In his review of Tryptych (1980) at the Tashkent Film Festival, Holl of Variety wrote: this film "places Khamraev in the forefront of Soviet cinema and assures his status as the best Uzbek director on the scene today, possibly the most talented in the Soviet Middle Asian republics.".
