Jim Caviezel, who was sensational as Christ in Mel Gibson's bloody Bible story, has a new sci-fi flick called Outlander, which, surprisingly enough, is not in any way based on a sport utility vehicle.
Instead, Outlander is about an alien battle on Earth during the reign of the Vikings, although the movie puts it at 709 Ad, about a hundred years before the first Norse Viking raids. Why not just move it up and be a teensy bit more accurate, he asks before remembering this is about an alien war in Norway.
In a way, I dig the concept, much as I admired the basic outline of The 13th Warrior, which, as it happens, isn't much of a movie. The stranger in a strange land premise has served many a movie quite well over the years, and Caviezel's a good enough actor to make it work. He's...
