Update, Oct. 30: Twitter caved Friday in its two-week battle with the New York Post over its Hunter Biden reporting, unlocking its main account on the service.
The Post has been the embroiled in a battle with the social media giant, which banned its links to its reporting on Hunter Biden’s business dealings and its ramifications on his father, Joe Biden, and his presidential campaign. Twitter claimed the reports were based on hacked information.
In a series of tweets, Twitter said it was revising its “Hacked Materials Policy” and “updating our practice of not retroactively overturning prior enforcement.”
“Our policies are living documents,” said one of the tweets from @TwitterSafety. “We’re willing to update and adjust them when we encounter new scenarios or receive important feedback from the public.”
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was called into the Congressional woodshed earlier over what some Republicans claimed was partisan censorship.

Bill Gates is the richest person in the country with $54 billion. He’s got $41 billion more than Anne Cox Chambers, the richest person in media.
That’s the word from Forbes magazine and its Forbes 400 Richest People in America list, which was made public Wednesday.
The 90-year-old Cox Chambers inherited her $12.5 billion from her dad, James Cox, a schoolteacher turned newspaper reporter who bought the Dayton Evening News for $26,000 in 1898 and parlayed it into Cox Enterprises, which now includes the Cox Communications cable TV company.
Following Cox Chambers on the list of richest Americans who made their fortune in media are four people with $6.2 billion, the most notable being Australian-born Rupert Murdoch, founder, chairman and CEO of News Corp.
He’s tied with Jim Kennedy and Blair Parry-Okeden, two of James Cox’s grandchildren, and Samuel Newhouse, whose assets include portions of Advanced Publications, Conde Nast and Discovery Communications.

Movie producer Ryan Kavanaugh is facing jail this week, after he was arrested in October for driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and driving with a suspended licence, all while still on probation for an earlier DUI charge.
The 34-year-old financier, whose Hollywood credits include Charlie Wilson's War, 3:10 to Yuma, 21 and the forthcoming musical Nine, was reportedly stopped by cops as he drove home from a film premiere in Los Angeles on 23 October.
It comes just two years after he was arrested for driving drunk in Malibu, California.
News of his arrest emerged on Friday, as it was revealed he will be arraigned at a Beverly Hills court on Friday 12 December.
A jail term could be handed out for both the second DUI charge and for violation of the probation he was placed on in 2006.
Kavanaugh's Relativity Pictures has big money deals with almost every major movie studio, including a $550 million (GBP366 million) partnership with Sony Pictures and a recently-signed $3 billion (GBP2 billion) contract with NBC Universal.
But Hollywood bosses are standing by Kavanaugh. Sony spokesperson Jim Kennedy tells the New York Times, "We do not anticipate that this will have any impact on our current business."...
