Bogdan (Boncho) Dimitrov Karastoyanov is a Bulgarian photographer and cinematographer. He was born on January 24, 1899 in Sofia, Bulgaria . In 1917, he graduated from Robert College in Istanbul and in 1919 - the School for Reserve Officers in Sofia. In subsequent years he studied photo-chemistry in Berlin and artistic photography in Paris . He is one of the pioneers in color photography, making color photographs of plates "Lumiere auto chrome". Since the early 40th he had worked as a cinematographer in" Bulgarian Cinematography ". In 1949, he directed his the movie" Long Way Of the Cigarette . " In 1953, he won the Dimitrov's prize, which is given for contribution to culture and art. He died in 1962 in Sofia.
