Anna Kang, a native New Yorker, was born in the Bronx and raised on
Long Island. After graduating with honors from Tufts University with a
degree in International Relations and Asian Studies, Kang went on to
work as a Research Associate at the Council on Foreign Relations, a
foreign policy think tank in Manhattan. Kang received her M.F.A. from
USC's school of Cinematic Arts, where she won a screenwriting
scholarship and directed a short documentary, "Not Black or White," an
irreverent look at media stereotypes of Asian women. Kang was a fellow
in the Sundance Institute's Screenwriters Lab in 2002 with her script,
The Lost Tribe of Long Island. Kang was also a fellow in Film
Independent's Screenwriters and Directors Labs.
