This Fear the Walking article contains spoilers.
After eight seasons, the popular zombie horror series Fear the Walking Dead came to a close with a two-part finale, concluding the saga of Madison Clark and her fight to survive the zombie apocalypse. Along the blood-soaked way, there is plenty of death and betrayal as the survivors battle for the fate of Padre, an island refuge that becomes threatened by the ravenous undead hordes amid the power struggle between the living. Telling a largely self-contained story within the wider Walking Dead universe, the Fear the Walking Dead series finale provides its main characters with a send-off and perhaps the closest thing they’ll ever get to a happy ending.
Here are all the major deaths in the Fear the Walking Dead series finale, what becomes of those who survive long enough to make it to the end credits, and how the show resolves the mystery of Alicia,...

Guess what kicks off this week? Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas!!
That’s right, folks. We’re still celebrating spooky season, but Christmas is already upon us. Who’s ready??
In addition to Christmas, we’ve got the Billions finale, Fellow Travelers, and 30 Coins, among other things. Find out what we recommend you watch this week.
Saturday, October 21
8/7c Where Are You, Christmas? (Hallmark)
What would happen if Christmas ceased to exist?
Well, in addition to the pretty enormous faith-based ramifications, the world would be a lot less colorful with a lot less joy.
Where Are You, Christmas paints the picture using the colorless world that we wouldn’t want to experience. This will be a Hallmark movie to remember!
8/7c Twas the Text Before Christmas (Gaf)
Texting doesn’t exactly elicit the warm fuzzies, but this Great American Family original aims to prove otherwise.

If you needed proof that Troy Otto cheated death on Fear the Walking Dead Season 3, we finally have it.
AMC has shared a teaser trailer for the final six episodes of Fear the Walking Dead Season 8, and Daniel Sharman is well and truly back.
Madison (Kim Dickens) seemingly killed Troy several years ago with a devastating blow to the head from her hammer.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 6 teased someone coming after Madison and her people after listening to her calls as the leader of Padre.
Troy seems to have revenge on the mind as he tells Madison that she took everything from him and is seemingly in control of an army of walkers.
Revenge will surely be on his mind because it's no coincidence that the rest of his family were killed shortly after she started living at his family farm with her kids.

AMC premiered the first footage of The Walking Dead: Rick & Michonne during a San Diego Comic-Con panel for the franchise.
Unfortunately, Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira were not in attendance.
With the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, most of the panels at Comic-Con will proceed without input from the cast and creatives.
This is the shape of things to come until a fair deal is reached for writers and actors.
The series is "an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world," according to AMC.
"Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were."
"Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead... And ultimately, a war against the living," the logline teases.
"Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they've ever known before?...

Lennie James has been a part of The Walking Dead universe since The Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 1 in the role of Morgan Jones.
However, his journey with the franchise concluded on Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 6, an hour that sent one of the franchise's best characters in an exciting new direction.
Speaking with TV Fanatic exclusively, Lennie revealed that his final episode was taxing on him physically because the show put Morgan through everything he's ever been through all over again.
If you watch Fear the Walking Dead online, you know we witnessed Morgan as he had lapses in memory, a callback to his journey on The Walking Dead.
"There was one point where I was hanging off of a crane above a hole that had been dug in the ground that was filled with fake mud up to my neck," James said with a laugh.

This article contains spoilers for Fear the Walking Dead season 8 episode 6.
The eighth and final season of Fear the Walking Dead has been pulling out all the stops to drive home the show’s unique place in the franchise – and everything we’ll miss when it’s gone. Since day one, the series has been about families trying to stay together against all odds, and that heart wrenching theme has progressed into a fast-paced, chaotic, and – don’t forget – terrifying mid-season finale with twists and cliffhangers galore.
“All I See is Red” find one of the primary protagonists, The Walking Dead alum Morgan Jones (Lennie James), reeling from the loss of his beloved, Grace (Karen David), as he tries to reunite with his daughter Mo (Zoey Merchant). This all occurs with the two locked in the center of an absolute whirlwind of horror as regret and grief threaten to overwhelm them.

After spending the last three episodes sending the narrative in circles, Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 Episode 6 quite literally turned the show on its head, preparing us for a very different final six episodes.
In recent years, cast departures haven't been as secretive in Twd Universe, and it's shocking that Morgan's arc is wrapped up, seemingly for good, by the end of "All I See is Red."
Morgan has spoken countless times about seeing red after the deaths of his wife and son, and truthfully, I didn't think the showrunners of Fear the Walking Dead could craft a compelling farewell for such an iconic character.
Thankfully, Morgan reached a state of resolution with his past actions and is ready to embrace a new chapter that involves some of his old friends.
This message is for Rick Grimes. It's Morgan Jones. Man, I'm gonna come and look for you, whether you're at Alexandria or not.

Talk about daddy issues. When Fear the Walking Dead’s eighth and final season begins, seven years have elapsed, and survivor Morgan Jones (Lennie James) has continued trying to do right by his adopted daughter, Mo. But, the child-stealing organization P.A.D.R.E. still has her and is stronger than ever as it builds a community of dangerous youths. Morgan is pushed “to consider actions he never thought he’d have to face again,” says co-showrunner Andrew Chambliss. That, of course, means infiltrating P.A.D.R.E., a place we’ve long heard about, but not seen much of up until this point in the series. “P.A.D.R.E. holds a unique place in the Twdu, not just because its location and defenses make it an extremely safe place to live, but also because of the way it’s organized itself,” explains Chambliss. “P.A.

“Fear the Walking Dead” begins its eighth and final season Sunday, bringing the curtain down on an impressive eight-year run and more than 100 episodes produced. This installment begins with a compelling hook, boo-hiss baddies lined up and the stage set for a suitably epic showdown with some degree of finality to it. Then again, maybe not.
As the first “Walking Dead” spin-off begins its last descent, it’s worth reflecting on the world it debuted in back in fall 2015. At the time, “The Walking Dead” was not only a ratings behemoth but a genuine pop culture phenomenon, commanding both heated watercooler discourse and high-minded thinkpieces.
The temperature has come down substantially in the years since, but that does nothing to diminish what the franchise achieved at its peak, and by extension how “Fear the Walking Dead” rode the tide to some surprising artistic highs. The show could be uneven at...

After battling nuclear warheads, an idyllic settlement with a corrupt leader, a cult, some Vultures, and no small amount of walkers, the journey that began in King County for Morgan Jones (Lennie James) might well come to an end in Fear the Walking Dead’s final 12 episodes. Shockingly, based on the Season 8 trailer, the kindhearted survivor’s path could take him out of Texas and back to Georgia. Why? When? How? We chatted with James about the trailer’s stunning “Morgan-goes-home” reveal, Fear’s upcoming seven-year time jump, and his character’s occasionally tumultuous mental state as the group faces another foe in the mysterious Padre. AMC/YouTube You’ve been part of the Walking Dead Universe, in one way or another, for a long time. How are you feeling as Fear draws to a close? Lennie James: I’m feeling good, actually. It's no secret that Fear the Walking Dead is the most inconsistent series on TV in recent memory.
The first three seasons were not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but under the leadership of Dave Erickson, certain aspects of those initial three seasons towered above the main series.
With Erickson's departure at the end of Fear the Walking Dead Season 3, there was a noticeable dive in quality, thanks to inconsistent pacing, poorly developed characters, and some nonsensical storytelling.
Every time the series has shown some semblance of quality, it has returned off the rails before we get accustomed to it.
Surprisingly, the first three episodes of Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 are some of the strongest since those initial three seasons, giving the sense that the latest revamp might bring the show to a close with some dignity.
Many shows don't get opportunity after opportunity to right the ship,...

AMC brought Fear the Walking Dead and the new The Walking Dead spinoff The Walking Dead: Dead City to the 2023 WonderCon held March 24-26 in Anaheim, CA. While Dead City made its WonderCon debut, this year’s panel for Fear the Walking Dead marks its final time appearing at what’s referred to as the smaller, more low-key version of the massive San Diego Comic-Con.
Series stars Kim Dickens, Jenna Elfman, and Christine Evangelista joined co-showrunner Ian Goldberg and executive producer Michael Satrazemis for the show’s final season panel. AMC used the WonderCon panel to debut the season eight trailer, and the network also released a new poster and photos online. And during the panel, Goldberg confirmed season eight includes a seven-year time jump.

Last month, AMC announced that the eighth season of Fear the Walking Dead, which is set to begin airing on May 14th, will be the final season. Years in the making. Let’s do this!” The series finale is being directed by Michael E. Satrazemis, a franchise regular who has directed seventeen episodes of The Walking Dead, twenty episodes of Fear the Walking Dead, and three episodes of Tales of the Walking Dead.

The best way to describe Fear the Walking Dead is a rollercoaster.
What started as a compelling look into how the world fell became a tedious affair, and we're surprised it's even getting an eighth and final season to tie up loose ends.
The series was destined for success on its brand name alone, and looking back, it's hard to believe that it is the same show we watched during the first three seasons.
It's time to dive into how the show lost most of its viewers and whether anything could have prevented the series from becoming what it is today: A shell of its former self.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 premiered to a decent response and broke several cable records.
It started as a series about the Clark family and their struggle to come to terms with the fall of the world.

After 11 seasons and 12 years, present and past cast members of “The Walking Dead” gathered together to celebrate the series finale at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Fans sat on risers yards away from the red carpet, cheering the names of their favorite actors, who spoke to Variety about all they were feeling.
“When we were first doing the pilot, everybody kept saying, ‘This probably won’t go any further, because it’s zombies.’ Everything at that time was vampires,'” said Lennie James, who stars in “The Walking Dead” and spinoff “Fear the Walking Dead” as Morgan Jones. Gimple, the franchise’s chief content officer, James added, “What Gimple and Nicotero have done is they’ve made zombie sexy. They’ve made zombie scary. They’ve made zombies interesting.

Many of the characters have enemies on Fear the Walking Dead, but Victor Strand and Morgan Jones have quite literally thrown each other to the wolves.
Thankfully, they've both survived, and I got the chance to speak with Lennie James and Colman Domingo about where things are going on in the back half of Fear the Walking Dead Season 7.
While Strand and Morgan are very much against one another, James is not ruling out the possibility of forgiveness.
However, the star cautions that he'd be worried about what would have to happen first.
"What would have to happen before that for them to get to a point?"
"That slightly worries me because, you know, quite a thick line has been drawn kind of between them, but in this apocalypse, anything can happen."
James believes the ever-changing nature of the world the characters live in could ultimately put them back on the same side.

War is here on Fear. Following the shocking revelation that Strand (Colman Domingo) killed Alicia’s (Alycia Debnam-Carey)’s almost-love-interest Will (Gus Halper), conflict exploded, and the stalwart survivors of Fear The Walking Dead are taking sides. Lauren “Lo” Smith/AMC Domingo emphasized that “there is a war a-brewin’” within the group, which he finds “fascinating” because the franchise has never tackled a conflict where both sides are family. “Usually it’s an outside force, a voice. There’s always been a baddie from the outside, and now there’s baddies from the inside depending on the point of view that you share. That’s something that’s interesting.” Lennie James, who plays Morgan Jones, elaborated that the season plays with perception — telling a “goodie” from a “baddie” in Fear’s war-torn (and nuclear) world isn’t simple, or perhaps even necessary. “Victor Strand has reason, Alicia has reason, Morgan has reason,...

For awhile there it really seemed as though the flagship Walking Dead series would go on forever.
AMC probably would have preferred it do so as it’s one of the network’s biggest-ever hits. But some casting turnover and the lack of new adaptation material from Robert Kirkman’s original comic series finally spelled the end for the show after 11 seasons.
Even though The Walking Dead as a TV show may be shuffling off its mortal coil, The Walking Dead franchise isn’t going anywhere any time soon. It’s almost as if it’s some kind of…reanimated corpse or something? The Walking Dead had already led to the creation of two spinoffs before it left the air and now AMC seems content to produce many more.
With so many Walking Dead spinoffs on the way, it can be hard to keep track of them all. So let...

Where to Watch ‘Save Me’: Both seasons are on Peacock, with the final five episodes of Season 2 exclusive to Peacock Premium members.
That “Save Me” is a story of a father in search of a lost child is just one of the ways that the deck seems stacked against it. Strand's reign of terror could be ending very soon.
AMC provided TV Fanatic with an exclusive look at Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 7, titled "The Portrait."
The highly-anticipated episode finds Morgan inside the Tower.
If you watch Fear the Walking Dead online, you know the show has pit the two men against one another.
They make a deal in the clip, but before they get time to toast to it, exploding walkers gear up to invade the Tower.
In Strand's mind, this tower is a safe haven that is free from the perils of the outside world.
But the latest group of villains are here to prove otherwise.
The scene is filled with twists and turns as Morgan and Strand react to the developments, and the Tower begins to shake due to an explosive.
At least one of the walkers is thrown through the window, but the pair manage to throw it back out.

That doesn’t look like a nuclear wasteland on Fear the Walking Dead?! Hopeful former leader Morgan Jones (Lennie James) is trekking toward greener pastures, literally. But just because he’s not decked out in his hazmat suit and gas mask to avoid the fallout of the warheads that exploded across Texas in the Season 6 finale doesn’t mean he’ll have an easy trip. “Morgan is still trying to discover how many of his group survived and what he might have to do to bring them all back together,” James says. (Credit: Lauren “Lo” Smith/AMC) He has already located — and threatened — traitor Victor Strand (Colman Domingo), who is running his own colony, called the Tower, with nurse June Dorie (Jenna Elfman) and her father-in-law, John Sr. (Keith Carradine), stuck inside. In the November 21 episode, Morgan and his love Grace (Karen David) hope to locate ex-journalist Al (Maggie Grace...

This is an excerpt from TV Guide Magazine’s The Walking Dead Universe Special Collector’s Issue, which is available for international pre-order online now at TheWalkingDeadMag.com and will be available nationwide on newsstands now. The thrilling sixth season of Fear the Walking Dead ended with a—literal—bang. And the 10 nuclear warheads that doomsday cult leader Teddy Maddox (John Glover) unleashed across the state of Texas in the last episode have altered the fabric of the show. “One of the things I’m excited for fans to see is our depiction of the apocalypse on top of the apocalypse,” says Lennie James, who plays benevolent leader Morgan Jones. It will affect the landscape drastically, he notes, as well as “how [the survivors] move around and inhabit it.” Morgan’s world was also rocked in the finale by the arrival of an orphaned baby, delivered to him and his love Grace...

It’s Morgan Jones (Lennie James) vs. Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) when Fear the Walking Dead returns for its seventh season in October. Who will win? And who will have to be stopped? Those are the questions after checking out the new trailer and key art. AMC has also announced that Aisha Tyler, who directed a Season 6 episode, will appear in Season 7. You can see her in the new preview (and the photo above). “I’m done listening to you, Morgan. Everyone is. Everyone tried it your way and look what happened,” Strand says over the radio. “Face the truth, Morgan. You failed. And now it’s my turn. I’m going to do what you couldn’t. I’m going to rebuild the world. I’m going to help everyone that you let down, all while you watch from the outside.” Morgan is all for that. “You should rebuild the world,...

The world as our favorite characters knows it is over.
That might seem like a strange observation when you consider the fact they've spent years fighting for survival in a zombie apocalypse, but now they have a new world to endure, one that is filled with radiation and new perils.
One of those perils appears to be good old Victor Strand (Colman Domingo).
While the freshly released Comic-Con clips for Fear the Walking Dead Season 7 spends a lot of time on the events of the nuclear blast, it does begin to paint a picture of what we can expect when the series returns later this year.
The characters have been haunted by the sins of the past for so long that there's no telling how far they will be pushed to survive.

June is no longer welcome at Morgan's compound.
That much is evident after watching the first few minutes of Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 13, which we're able to share with you exclusively.
We get to see June arriving at the compound, only to be stopped at the gate by Morgan, who wonders whether his and Grace's child would have survived had they not had to travel to June.
That allows June to confirm that it wouldn't have helped because the child had already died.
Morgan reveals that Grace will not speak to anyone and is holed up in the old church. Understandably, she's suffering, and it will probably be sometime before she can confront the insurmountable loss.
But, for now, June is kicked out of the compound and no longer welcome, no matter how much she tells Morgan that a doctor should look over grace.
Ultimately, June exits the compound after Morgan persists,...

Characters don’t usually last too long on AMC’s zombie epic The Walking Dead.
Frequent, major character deaths are bound to happen amid a dangerous post-apocalyptic environment rife with ravenous corpses. The culling of cast is also just a fact of life for a physically demanding acting job that requires performers to endure grueling Georgia summers for an indeterminate number of seasons.
At this point in The Walking Dead’s run, the number of significant dead characters are sure to outnumber the living. While frequent casting turnover might be at times difficult to stomach for viewers, it presents a rare opportunity for collectors.
Many major pop culture properties have entered into the collectible trading card game. The Walking Dead, however, is a particularly apt fit. What better way to keep track of the series’ many characters and to memorialize the ones we’ve lost...

They might now occupy different corners of The Walking Dead universe, but Lennie James is hoping for a reunion with his old co-star Andrew Lincoln at some point in the future of the franchise. Both actors’ history with Twd dates back to the show’s very first episode, but the pair eventually vacated the series at separate times. James went over to lead spinoff Fear the Walking Dead in its fourth season, while Lincoln left in season 9 ahead of his own movie trilogy.
James is keeping his fingers crossed, though, that he’ll get to work with his good pal again. The Morgan Jones star took part in a Reddit Ama to promote the premiere of the new season of British drama Save Me Too and was asked if he agrees that Morgan needs to encounter Rick Grimes again to bring “closure” to their complicated relationship. Following one of the most infuriating cliffhangers in Fear the Walking Dead history, last Sunday’s season 6 premiere, “The End Is the Beginning,” finally confirmed that fan-favorite character Morgan Jones is alive and well(ish). Following an epic showdown with a no-nonsense bounty hunter with an affinity for big axes and baked beans, Morgan finds himself reinvigorated and dead-set on liberating his people from Virginia’s group of murderous trailblazers.
While the second episode of season 6 won’t feature Morgan in the flesh, it will mark the directorial debut of Lennie James himself. Back in February, Den of Geek visited the Fear the Walking Dead set in Austin, Texas to watch him work behind the camera. After a long, rainy day of shooting, he was kind enough to trudge through the mud over to the press tent to answer a few questions...

Poor Morgan Jones has seen better days after being shot and left for dead in the Fear the Walking Dead season 5 cliffhanger, but he quickly learns in the season 6 premiere that the gangrene eating away at his flesh is the least of his worries. There’s an axe-wielding bounty hunter named Emile Laroux (Demetrius Grosse) on his trail, hired to collect Morgan’s head for Virginia, who is too much of a coward to finish the job herself.
Emile ends up being nothing more than a one-off villain meant to spark new life in Morgan, who had lost the will to live after being defeated by the Pioneers last season, but his introduction does also tease quite a few things about season 6 nonetheless. For one thing, it’s confirmed through Emile’s very existence that there are bounty hunters wandering around The Walking Dead universe and ready to chop off heads.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 1
After everything the world has endured these last several months, it just doesn’t seem productive to harp on what did or didn’t work about last season. I’m even willing to give John Dorie’s San Antonio Split a pass at this point. If anything, we’re lucky we have anything new to watch at all, especially with some series being outright canceled because they’re too difficult to produce in the age of Covid-19.
With that being said, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the way “The End is the Beginning” kicked things off for Fear the Walking Dead‘s sixth season. And that’s certainly something I don’t think a lot of us expected—that a spin-off prequel to The Walking Dead would have legs. But here we are,...

Can we ever truly count out Morgan?
Fear the Walking Dead Season 6 Episode 1 was another attempt at reinventing the wheel for this zombie drama, but it yielded mixed results.
Morgan's death would have confirmed the series was ready to take some bigger risks, instead of phoning it in with dull and meandering plots.
The biggest compliment I can give to Fear the Walkig Dead is that it likes to switch things up. It tries out new storytelling mechanics, more so than The Walking Dead.
But is that really a compliment? I'm not so sure.
The usual tact is that this spinoff fails to have much payoff when it starts something new, but (and here's the Aha moment) Morgan's grueling battle with Virginia might actually help the show rise like a phoenix.
Morgan is a complicated man, and we first met him over ten years ago. The mothership series failed him,...

The tense teaser promises lots of drama and darkness to come, as well as revealing when we can expect the run to premiere – October 11th.
The trailer begins with where season 5 left off, with Morgan Jones (Lennie James) bleeding out and left alone, with a swarm of walkers coming for him. You might not think things could get any worse for poor Morgan but, boy, somehow you’d be wrong. The teaser ends with someone putting a bounty on his head, with a sinister-looking hunter agreeing to take the job.
James took part in the Ftwd panel along with co-stars Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Karen David, Jenna Elfman and Rubén Blades, with Twd Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple...

Hey, want to feel old? It’s not quite 10 years since it began airing, but it’s now been a whole decade since production began on The Walking Dead. The six-episode first season of the post-apocalyptic drama kicked off the series in style, paving the way for it to become the pop culture juggernaut that it is today over the next couple of years. To mark this important anniversary, an iconic Twd guest star is remembering the filming of the pilot episode on Twitter.
Actress Addy Miller has the honor of playing the very first zombie ever depicted in the show, the little girl – credited as Summer – who Rick Grimes encounters when he wakes up from his coma. Miller took to social media yesterday to share some behind-the-scenes pics from the pilot, including a sweet one of herself posing with Andrew Lincoln.
“10 years ago today I filmed the little role that changed my life!

One of the most frustrating TV delays that came about because of the Covid-19 pandemic is the hold-up with the season 10 finale of The Walking Dead. AMC was able to bring us all but the last episode the latest run before the global lockdown prevented post-production work from being finished on the finale. And as of yet, we’ve still no idea when we may see it.
What’s particularly worrying, though, is that it might not be until the fall that fans get to see how things will be resolved for their beloved survivors. At least, that’s according to ComicBook.com, who put forth an interesting case for why AMC may hold off on airing the episode until later this year.

The Walking Dead might be getting on in years, but the post-apocalyptic franchise is only going to grow, not shrink, in the near future. AMC’s expansion of the brand is getting more ambitious as time goes on, with Andrew Lincoln’s movie trilogy serving as a good example. The upcoming World Beyond spinoff will tie into the ongoing mystery of who’s behind Rick’s disappearance, remember. A sign that the Twd universe is borrowing Marvel’s McU mantra: “It’s all connected.”
Bearing that in mind, it seems that a Marvel-style crossover between the two long-running series at the heart of the franchise could be about to happen. In fact, we’ve now heard that the casts of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead are going to be coming together for a major event in the near future.
