Question: Are you a fan of Bloodsport, Kickboxer, King of the Kickboxers, or any of the many similar “fighting championship” movies that were released around the time Van Damme’s film hit it big? You are? Then stop reading any firther and go out and buy Lady Bloodfight. Right now. Go on. You can come back here later to read what I think…. Shop’s are shut? Go buy it digitally. Now.
Why? Because Lady Bloodfight is The female equivalent of Bloodsport. It may have taken 28 years but we’ve finally got one. It’s just as badass, just as packed with top-notch martial arts and...

"I go really theological really fast and I'm like, 'Oh, they're going to be the ones that save us. They're, like, our Romulus and Remus who will re-found the country and build us an empire worth fighting for.'"
When I speak with Alana Massey, not even 24 hours have passed since Beyoncé announced she is expecting twins. The 30-year-old author, a graduate of Yale Divinity, quickly proclaims the future Carter-Knowles offspring our saviors when I broach the subject during our phone chat, then at an equally dizzying clip, transitions in earnest to examining how we collectively digested the news.
"I was thinking about how it was such a nice reprieve from, 'Donald Trump Is Burning Down the World.' 'They're Shutting Down Nasa and We're Burning Down Yosemite,' and then whatever the hell else is happening politically," Massey rattles off. "Having that be, at least for a while, the thing that took everyone's focus and attention...

Steven Moffat’s characterizations of women are regularly called one-dimensional, misogynistic, and essentialist. He’s often accused of writing all women as generic “sexy vixens” who are defined solely by their sexuality. And a lot of people attack the poor man personally, calling him a misogynist with mommy/women/weird fetish problems.
I’m not going to talk about Moffat the person. I’m going to look at the work, not at the man. I’ve decided to do this because it’s unfair to take a writer’s work as a straight representation of what the writer thinks, and because I believe that the sexist Moffat quotes floating around the internet have likely been taken out of context in order for reporters to make a point.
What I’m going to do in this article is judge the stories Moffat has written for Sherlock and Doctor Who. What I...

Whether you are landed gentry, a common farmer, or a young lady with no parents or prospects, Miss Emma Woodhouse of Highbury will be sure to put you in your place-matrimonially or otherwise. Jane Austen's Emma plays on Book-It Repertory Theatre's stage at the Center House Theatre October 20- November 22.
Jane Austen's fourth novel is a sparkling comedy of 19th-century manners centering on the well-intentioned Emma and her sometimes indiscreet, often misapplied, and always entertaining efforts as matchmaker. Clever, intelligent, and spoiled, Emma takes it upon herself to arrange a suitable marriage for her poor friend Harriet. But despite her advantages, she is oblivious to the true nature of almost everyone around her-including herself-until at last she happily loses her own heart. Austen's deliciously droll descriptions, ironic observations, and generous happy endings are Book-It fan favorites.
