Prepare for more chaos as the Universal Monsterverse readies audiences for its next installment. The studio dropped a 35-second teaser for the next in their “Godzilla vs. Kong” series, that initially started with the 2021 feature of the same name directed by Adam Wingard (“The Guest”).
We don’t get much in 35-seconds but we do get a shot of King Kong himself on his throne, surrounded by the bones of, no doubt, a legion of enemies. The the teaser concludes with the skulls of both Kong and the equally famous Godzilla before revealing the film’s title is officially “Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire.”

Godzilla vs. Kong director Adam Wingard is returning to the helm for a sequel that has been shrouded in secrecy for months – all we’ve heard up to this point was that Wingard’s The Guest star Dan Steven had joined the cast, and that was way back in May. But now Warner Bros. and Legendary have sent out a press release to give us more information on this currently untitled addition to the Monsterverse, which is scheduled to reach theatres on March 15, 2024.
The press release reveals that the screenplay for this film was written by Terry Rossio (the Pirates of the Caribbean series), Jeremy Slater (Moon Knight), and Simon Barrett (You’re Next), the three of them crafting a story that

Legendary and Warner Bros. announced new theatrical release plans for two of their high-profile films Thursday.
In a relatively minor shift, filmmaker Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two is being pushed back less than a month from Oct. 20, 2023, to Nov. 17, 2023. That means the sequel will have the advantage of playing over the Thanksgiving holiday.
And Adam Wingard’s next installment in the Godzilla-Kong franchise will hit theaters March 15, 2024.
Wingard’s Godzilla vs. Kong, released in March 2021, earned 468.2 million globally. It was a strong showing for a title released amid the pandemic and which hit HBO Max day-and-date as part of Warners’ plan to send all of its 2021 titles to theaters and streaming simultaneously.
Villeneuve’s Dune also did nicely, considering the Covid-19 crisis (it was likewise released in 2021 and hit theaters and streaming day-and-date). The sci-pic grossed north of 400 million globally and won six Oscars.

AMC’s “Alan Wake” TV adaptation has brought on two new producers following the exit of its previously announced showrunner, Variety has learned exclusively.
Based on the best-selling video game of the same name, the potential series, which is in the very early stages of development at the cable channel, was originally set to have Peter Calloway serve as its showrunner when it was first set up at producer Contradiction Films in 2018. He has now stepped away from “Alan Wake,” which recently landed at AMC, due to conflicting project timelines.
Meanwhile, Jon Jashni, former president of Legendary Entertainment, and Jeff Ludwig, former vice president of scripted film and television production for Ritchie/Wigram Productions, have joined the drama as executive producer and producer, respectively. A search is currently underway for a new showrunner for the in-the-works show.

Lost in Space has been renewed by Netflix for a third season, in which The Robinson Family’s epic space journey towards Alpha Centauri will conclude.
While the series is coming to a close, Netflix and Lost in Space Executive Producer/ showrunner Zack Estrin have agreed to enter a multi-year overall deal to produce new series exclusively at Netflix.
It also sounds like the decision to end the series was all Estrin.
Estrin says, “From the beginning, we've always viewed this particular story of The Robinsons as a trilogy."
"A three part epic family adventure with a clear beginning, middle and end. It's also worth noting that, with what these characters go through just trying to survive each episode — if anyone deserves to catch their breath before their next mission -- it’s Will, Penny, Judy, Maureen, John, Don West, Dr. Smith... and The Robot."
"And, of course, Debbie the Chicken.

“Danger, Will Robinson!” by Bill Mumy
I’ve run the gamut of emotions when hearing those three words over the last 54 years. I was a prolific and experienced professional actor, having worked half of my 10 years, by the time I accepted the role of Will Robinson in Irwin Allen’s ambitious television project, Lost in Space. What kid wouldn’t have loved to be Will? He was a genius. Brave, trusting, open, bold, and respectful. He had a laser gun and he used it. He often saved the day. And… he played the guitar.

Before the Netflix reimagining premiered in April 2018, the idea that any new version of Lost in Space would be decent—much less excellent—seemed unlikely, if not outright impossible. Prior to the Netflix version, there were two reboots: one you’ve forgotten and another you’ve likely never seen—the underwhelming 1998 Lost in Space film from New Line Cinema and an unaired 2004 series directed by John Woo called The Robinsons. Like some of the Alpha Centauri colonists who failed to dodge the death-ray from a robot, both failed spectacularly. HBO Max has picked up a four-part docuseries about the forgotten leaders of the Lgbtq rights movement from executive producers Greg Berlanti and Jim Parsons, the streaming service announced Wednesday.
Titled “Equal,” the four-part series will document the “gripping and true backstories of the leaders and unsung heroes, pre-Stonewall, who changed the course of American history through their tireless activism,” using both documentary footage and “high-end re-enactments,” according to HBO Max’s description of the show.
Subjects tackled on the show will include gay rights activist Harry Hay; lesbian civil rights group Daughters of Bilitis; Christine Jorgensen, a transgender woman who flew to Europe to publicly transition in 1951; and gay rights and African American rights leader Bayard Rustin. The final episode will center on the Stonewall Riots and the first Pride event the following year.

The Meaa has warned its members that a sophisticated scam targeting performers and crew has reached Australia and that at least one Australian stunt performer has been defrauded of thousands of dollars.
The scam is believed to have trapped at least 10 victims in Australia. The union has advised its members to take extra precautions when dealing with people purporting to be high-level Hollywood executives.
The ruse involves a skilled impersonator with detailed knowledge of yet-to-be-released Hollywood screen productions made in Australia, with accomplices based in Indonesia.
The international operation was first revealed by The Hollywood Reporter last year. The latest victim is a Meaa stunt member who was approached via email by a person impersonating American producer Jon Jashni.
“When I received the email, my gut said ‘as if,’ but the content of the email was convincing,” the stunt member, who asked not to be identified, said.
