During an evidentiary hearing on Monday, the 27-year-old former Marine charged with allegedly stabbing to death an 11-year-old boy on his walk home from school began weeping as prosecutors revealed the child died from being stabbed more than 20 times, People confirms. A prosecution source tells People that Andre Timothy Jackson, Jr. started shedding tears during Monday's court appearance. Jackson sobbed for less than 30 seconds, the source says, with his hands over his face for most of that time. Jackson was arrested late last week for the alleged May 17 slaying of Josue Flores, a middle school student. Jackson did not speak during Monday's hearing.

It appears Russell Brand is not going to take that phone-tossing felony charge lying down. Just days after the Arthur star racked up a simple criminal damage to property charge after smashing an office window with a paparazzo's iPhone, Brand's New Orleans attorney, Robert Glass, told E! News, "We're going to fight it." But how will they fight it? Brand reportedly plans to claim he was provoked by the paparazzi, which led him to grab and fling photographer Timothy Jackson's cell phone. Katy Perry's former hubby turned himself in to New Orleans police Thursday afternoon after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was booked and released about an hour later...

British funnyman Russell Brand is facing up to two years behind bars for smashing a paparazzo's cell phone after New Orleans, Louisiana police listed the crime as a felony.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star turned himself in to police in the city on Thursday and was arrested following an angry encounter with snapper Timothy Jackson on Monday. Brand stands accused of throwing the photographer's iPhone through the window of an abandoned building.
He walked free from jail hours later after posting $5,000 (£3,125) bail, and reports suggested he was just facing a $700 (£437) fine for a charge of simple criminal damage.
But editors at TMZ.com claim Brand's offence qualified as a felony arrest - because the damage caused to the iPhone and the smashed window amounted to more than $500 (£313). The window repair cost $240 (£150) alone. The actor has since compensated property owners.
The felony count carries a maximum punishment of two years in prison.
