Did Shameless Season 7 Episode 6 serve as Carl Gallagher's swan song? When you leave the city on a Greyhound bus, it kind of begs the question about whether your character is off the show.
Throughout Shameless Season 7, Carl has matured a lot and that's part of why Dom's dad helped him get the place in military school. Working on a show for seven years is a huge commitment, especially for a young actor.
Going to military school was the best way for Carl's storyline to actually progress. It would have felt like a wrong move to stay in the South Side with Dom.
Dom is not worth the trouble at this stage. She abused Carl's trust several times during their relationship. She's really not a nice girl and Carl can do a lot better.
It must have been difficult for Luther to let Carl witness Dom with another dude,...

Welcome back, lovers of dysfunction, willful wallowers and aficionados of absolute disgrace - Showtime's trashcan opera Shameless is back for a third season of laughs, thrills, and all the rest. I hope that you put on your chin-pad, because your jaw is going to start hitting the floor in about 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...
Fiona (Emmy Rossum) wakes alone in her charmingly messy bed to the sounds of standard Gallagher family chaos downstairs. Her shins are covered in red, itchy bites - yowch! Are bedbugs the new Karen Jackson? Because I don't think I'm ready for that.
Downstairs, Jimmy-nee-Steve (Justin Chatwin) has gotten half the clan out the door and is finishing up with Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) and Debs (Emma Kenney) - who has been keeping track of the number of days that Frank has been missing (oh - and Frank has been missing) with ribbons and cards on the front fence. For the record,...

Those Gallagher nutjobs sure have packed a lot of wrongness into a mere 24 episodes, haven't they? As we count down to the Season 3 premiere on Sunday, let's remember some of their ... um ... finer moments.
And be sure to check back on Monday for a whole new season of gobsmacked weekly recaps!
1. Eating Bald Eagle at Thanksgiving (Ep. 2.11)
Well, hey - Benjamin Franklin did lobby for the national bird to be the turkey. So they're not roasting an endangered species to succulent perfection, they're just paying tribute to our forefathers. Right?
2. Using Carl as Bait for a Pedophile Priest (Ep. 1.05)
Thankfully, budding sociopath Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) can handle himself, but the fact that Lip (Jeremy Allen White) and Ian (Cameron Monaghan) would dangle the kid in front of the old perv like a jerky treat is pretty foul. In the end, they did get "The Groper" to perform Kev and V's...

Rebecca Atkinson's grandmother is ''mortified'' by the actress' raunchy scenes on 'Shameless'. The 29-year-old star plays feisty Karen Jackson in the Channel 4 comedy - which tells the story of life on a fictional Manchester estate - and after spending the majority of the last nine series scantily-clad, the brunette beauty is now ''too old'' to be taking her clothes off onscreen, much to her relative's relief. She said: ''My nanna's just mortified about the whole thing. She doesn't know why I can't go into 'Downton Abbey' instead. ''At least now Karen's matured so it's other people's turn to get their clothes...

Beverly Hills, Calif. — Karen Jackson and Kiki Stafford were moved to tears as they walked among the items that surrounded Michael Jackson in his final days: The Victorian baby grand piano, the wooden armoire where Jackson had written a note to himself on the mirror, the kitchen chalkboard where his children inscribed the message, "I love daddy."
Jackson, 57, and Stafford, 47, were among dozens of Michael Jackson fans who got an early look at items that will be sold at auction from the singer's final home – and left behind tributes to the King of Pop.
Julien's Auctions announced last month that it would sell the contents of the sprawling home where the singer died in 2009. On Sunday, the company invited Jackson fans to preview its exhibit of the home's art and furnishings before it opens to the public Monday. Fans were also invited to leave pictures, cards, flowers, notes and other...

With news that British TV show Shameless is finally going to get a U.S. remake, AfterElton.com thought it time to introduce the hit British program to American audiences who don’t already follow the show on the Sundance Channel. So they asked me, one half of the popular AfterElton.com vlog Gay in the UK, to take you through the gay ups and downs of Chatsworth estate’s finest.
It’s impossible to know what the American version of Shameless that Showtime is producing will be like or how closely it will hew to the original, but the following rundown of what happened to the gay and gay-adjacent characters on the UK version will at least give American audiences a taste of what they might expect from this groundbreaking program.
Depending on which episode you catch, Shameless might be a hilarious comedy or a serious drama, but whatever the case,...

As someone who watches a lot of gay TV, I had to empathize a little when Darren Hayes complained about the the way the media has depicted gay men, saying that "You're either Graham Norton or George Michael getting arrested in parks" and that shows like Will & Grace demonstrated an idea "that basically there are two types of gay men: The slut, or there's the straight acting guy."
Hayes is right in a lot of ways. Gay visibility has improved quite a bit, but we still face those limiting stereotypes in spades. It's not hard to find a gay man whose only purpose is to make snappy remarks and help straight people figure out their problems (I'm guessing that's what Hayes' reference to Graham Norton is about, unless there's a slutty or straight-acting side to Norton that hasn't made it stateside).
Gay characters defined by their sexuality or their lack...
