- Dickson Hughes was born on December 14, 1922 in Akron, Ohio, USA. He was an actor, known for The Restless Breed (1957), Why Must I Die? (1960) and Copacabana (1985). He died on June 18, 2005 in Palm Springs, California, USA.
- Along with co-writer Richard Stapley, wrote an early musical stage version of "Sunset Boulevard" for the film's star, Gloria Swanson, which never came about due to Swanson's relationship with Stapley. The relationship caused the entire project to be scrapped, and it wasn't until 1994 that a musical version of the film finally made it Broadway.
