Republican West Virginia Senate candidate John Raese came to Ted Nugent's defense at a campaign event, calling the rocker a "patriot" and saying that "it's a concern" that the Secret Service investigated after Nugent's inflammatory speech threatening President Barack Obama.
Nugent, said Raese, according to video of the candidate's recent speech, argued that Nugent's words were merely "a figure of speech."
It was an unusually specific figure of speech, if that was the case. At the National Rifle Association convention, Nugent told fellow gun enthusiasts that "if Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”

After 12 solid months of endless debate, speculation, open campaigning and a whole lot of accusatory e-mails from Tokio Hotel fans, at long last, we have reached the tip-off of MTV's 2011 Musical March Madness tournament. Get ready for a bit of band bracketology that pits the 64 acts that matter most in rock against one another, with ultimate glory (and a really nice trophy) on the line.
So, after a yearlong wait, which bands got their golden tickets punched and which were left hoping for a lousy Nit invite?

But after a protracted wait, King James finally announced, at 9:27 p.m. Et, he'd be joining the Miami Heat. LeBron James' decision to televise his announcement became an event that seemed as if it could have been ripped from the pages of a screenplay. Sitting before Espn cameras, the former Cleveland Cavaliers forward had millions of viewers anticipating his final choice with baited breath.
"I feel like this is going to give me the best opportunity to win — and to win for multiple years. I want to be able to win championships," he said, explaining what motivated him to venture to Miami.
