After we see Chris Pine finally reprise his role as Captain James T. Kirk in J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Trek 2, it looks like the actor will be taking a step away from big budget filmmaking and into the Diy zone. He's co-written and will star in a movie called Mantivities, a comedy about a bunch of guys in their early thirties who are basically overgrown children, and how they all must come together when it's time for one of them to truly grow up.
Deadline has the story, and they report that Pine wrote the film with his friends Will Greenberg, Drew Howerton, Robert Baker, Ian Gotler and Tony Liebetrau. Michael Patrick Jann will be sitting in the director's chair on this one, and if you're not familiar with that name, don't worry - you're not alone. But we can put our doubts to rest when we take a look at his filmography,...

Even while actor Chris Pine floats around space thanks to the production of helmer J.J. Abrams' “Star Trek 2,” it would look as if he’s lining up his next projects once he returns from the Enterprise deck. One option could be that he takes the role of the Tom Clancy-created character Jack Ryan for another spin at Paramount, which we’re not really sure we want to see, but it seems he could take an altogether more promising route that offers him work both in front of, and for the first time, behind the camera.
Deadline has word that Pine is serving as both co-writer and star of the independent comedy “Mantivities” for the Waterstone Entertainment banner, with a script by Pine and a literal army of his bros, including Will Greenberg, Drew Howerton, Robert Baker, Ian Gotler and Tony Liebetrau. “Reno 911” and “Drop Dead Gorgeous” helmer...

A good barometer for one’s success level in Hollywood is if you have enough money to get all of your best buds together, write a screenplay then produce it into a feature film. Star Trek star Chris Pine must be at the top of his game, cause he has done just that for a new independent comedy.
Deadline reports that actor will be making his producing and writing debut in a film titled Mantivities, which he wrote with his friends Will Greenberg, Drew Howerton, Robert Baker, Ian Gotler and Tony Liebetrau. Pine will also star in the film that doesn’t seem to stray far from their real lives, as it follows a group of best buds in their 30s, who are “all in various stages of permanent adolescence.” The plot follows them attempting to assist one in their group to grow up.

Star Trek's Chris Pine got a bit of a beating earlier this year when the action-comedy he headlined with Tom Hardy, This Means War, stumbled at the box office and was hammered by critics. Still, things are looking up for the handsome leading man with a winsome demeanor. Pine will show his drama chops in June in Alex Kurtzman's People Like Us. He has recently wrapped on the wildly anticipated Star Trek 2, and is gearing up to front the presently untitled Jack Ryan project, based on the popular Tom Clancy thriller novels. But Pine has a mind to carve out his own opportunities, and Deadline reports he has just set up a comedy script of his own with newly minted production company Waterstone Entertainment. Awkwardly titled Mantivities, the screenplay Pine penned with friends Will Greenberg, Drew Howerton, Robert Baker, Ian Gotler and Tony Liebetrau centers on a...

Chris Pine knows that men will be boys.
The "Star Trek" star will soon be trying his hand at indie comedy as he's signed on to headline "Mantivities," according to Deadline.
"Mantivities" focuses on a group of thirtysomething friends, all in various stages of permanent adolescence. They get together with the aim of helping one of them grow up — and, in the process, we're imagining that all of them do.
This is something of a personal project for Pine, as he also co-wrote the script — along with five of his pals: Will Greenberg, Drew Howerton, Robert Baker, Ian Gotler and Tony Liebetrau. Might it be safe to assume that the main characters will all bear some sort of passing resemblance to the scribes that created them?

Despite serving once more as the captain of the Enterprise for next year’s Star Trek sequel and lending his vocal chords to the new DreamWorks ‘toon Rise Of The Guardians, Chris Pine has also found time to write a comedy, Mantivities, which he’s planning to co-star in. The film takes a look at a familiar theme: a group of friends in their early ‘30s who are all staunchly refusing to grow up, despite staring real life in the face. But they decide to band together to help one of their number mature in certain ways. Hilarity, we assume, ensues.Pine scribbled the screenplay with friends Will Greenberg, Drew Howerton, Robert Baker, Ian Gotler and Tony Liebtrau, and with that many writers, we’re assuming they just took alternating words. “I couldn’t be happier to begin the adventure of making Mantivities knowing how much fun we all had writing it,...
