One night, two struggling cartoonists had what turned out to be a billion-dollar idea. What if Frank Miller’s Daredevil had human-sized turtles in it? From that question came the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a quartet of brothers named after Renaissance artists who fought the Shredder and his Foot Clan (a spoof of perpetual Daredevil baddies the Hand). Who could have guessed that the self-published comic Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird created would launch a phenomenon, one that survived its first boom in the late ‘80s and crash in the mid-1990s? It has since gone on to become an enduring pop culture franchise which is still going strong after several decades. Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael have leaped out of the sewers and into every type of media, including video games and toys. Nonetheless, the characters are never more exciting than when they hit the big screen.

Implementation of a nationwide mask mandate, combined with complementary public health measures, could reduce the coronavirus’ spread to essentially zero and have a potential $1 trillion impact on the U.S. Gdp, according to researchers at UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
The team’s research “makes clear that even as vaccines are developed and new variants, like B.1.7.7, are being discovered, the power to protect ourselves remains in our hands, as individuals,” said Anne Rimoin, a UCLA Fielding School professor of epidemiology who co-authored its report.
“Wearing a mask is one of the simplest, most effective and cheapest ways to do exactly that — and it’s been proven by the history of epidemiology over the past century, going back to the 1918-19 influenza pandemic and even before,” she said.
“Reducing disease spread requires two things: limiting contacts of infected individuals via physical distancing and other measures and reducing the transmission probability per contact,...

Filming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, one of its former stars has revealed.
In an interview with Collider Live!, actor Alan Ritchson, who portrayed Raphael, one of the turtles in the film, opened up about the making of the reboots, calling it “the worst production experience I’ve ever had.”
“It made me hate life so much, so much,” Ritchson said. “They were so bad to us and they broke so many promises. I said no, I didn’t want to do it because I’m going to waste the best years...

Paramount has launched development of a third “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” movie — two years after “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” was a serious disappointment.
The studio has hired Andrew Dodge, whose credits include “Bad Words,” to write the script. Producers are Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller through their Platinum Dunes production company.
The studio is aiming to reboot the franchise through the third “Ninja Turtles” project.
Paramount’s two movies are based on the comic by Kevin Eastman and Kevin Laird about wisecracking pizza-loving turtle superheroes named after the Renaissance artists Michelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo and Donatello, using ninja skills acquired from a radioactive New York City rat. The first movie, simply called “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” was released in 2014 and grossed $493 million worldwide while “Out of the Shadows” took in about half that.

In the wake of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hitting the big screen back in 2014, very few critics were asking for more where it came from. General audiences, however, made the film a smash hit success at the box office, so it was only a matter of time before those heroes in a half shell returned to do battle with villains much more outlandish than The Shredder. In the interest of full disclosure, I’m one of those few critics who was asking for more back in 2014. And I sure am glad we got it.

Set photos during Teenage Mutant Ninja's Turtles: Out of the Shadows' on location shoot in NYC revealed that Megan Fox's April O'Neil would share screen time with the original April O'Neil from the 1990 live-action film, Judith Hoag. Details on Hoag's role were never revealed but cryptic tweets last May pretty much confirmed Hoag's cameo and encounter with the Turtles. Perhaps her character will show up in deleted scenes or an extended cut? Teenage Mutant Ninja's Turtles: Out of the Shadows is expected to narrowly edge out X-Men: Apocalypse for the #1 spot at the domestic box office this weekend but is currently tracking to gross only half of the 2014 film's $65 million weekend haul. Starring Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Johnny Knoxville, Tony Shalhoub, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Brian Tee, Will Arnett, Gary Anthony Williams, and WWE Superstar Sheamus, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows hits Us theaters today.

IMAX has released a new poster for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows, and it features the heroes in a half shell alongside human allies Casey Jones and April O’Neil.
Despite receiving a mixed response in 2014, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles grossed just shy of $500 million worldwide, so the fact that we’re getting this sequel is hardly a surprise. However, adding so many fan-favourite characters and hopefully an acknowledgement of what didn’t work in the first instalment will with any luck go some way in ensuring that the follow-up fares a little better.
Based on the reviews for this one so far, it is a success in that respect, thought still not necessarily what you might call a “good” movie. Of course, like the Transformers franchise for example, this isn’t the kind...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles originated in 1984 as a self-published comic book by two guys in New Hampshire, intended as a one-off parody of Cerebus, New Mutants, and the work of Frank Miller. More than 30 years on, there have been multiple comic series, four TV show adaptations, numerous video games, countless toys, and now six movies. It’s a bona-fide cultural phenomenon. And yet all you have to do is recite the name to remind yourself that it was all intended as a joke. Nostalgia is a helluva thing.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows not only recognizes this, but directly exploits it. Nearly all the hallmarks of the 1987 Tmnt cartoon (the biggest millennial touchstone for the franchise), are present here, including several that have never appeared in any of the theatrical films before. And this may indeed win over fans, going by the grown men at my screening...

Dave Green’s first film, Earth To Echo, had some mighty familiar DNA. You could tell that he was a fan of ‘80s Amblin’ films and that he’d absorbed the lessons of the film on a nearly molecular level like many of the film nerd kids who grew up on those movies. More than anything, he got the relationships between the kids right in that film, and it appears he carried that skill set over to a franchise that I have very little personal fondness for, resulting in what may well be the most consistently fun live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie ever made. It’s easy to dismiss someone’s fondness for something as pure nostalgia, but it’s also reductive and, in many cases, not why someone loves something. I may not personally be a Turtles fan, but I know enough of them (and have fathered a...

The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film is a notable step up from the last. Here's our review...
The key to adapting a comic book franchise into a modern blockbuster, you might think, is to stick closely to the source material. Certainly if you want to avoid a very loud and very angry fan backlash. Go back to the comics and give the fans what they want. In the case of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, that’s not really the case.
There are a good few of us who really love those original Mirage comic books, but a larger group of Turtles fans want an adaptation of the vastly different cartoon series from the 1980s. They want characters like Krang and Bebop and Rocksteady. As illogical as it might sound, you have to make a faithful adaptation of an unfaithful adaptation. And that’s exactly what director...

These latest promos for Paramount's follow-up to the blockbusting Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot contain quite a bit of new footage from the movie. Fans will be pleased to see that the rivalry/friendship between Casey Jones and Raphael that's endured through most Tmnt interpretations seems to have carried over to this sequel. There's also new shots of Shredder, dialogue from Splinter, and April O'Neil getting in on the action, too. Vanilla Ice surprised attendees at the premiere of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows at Madison Square Garden when he performed his classic 1991 song "Ninja Rap." The song was made famous when he performed it in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze. Of course, he was joined on stage by four dancers dressed up in costumes that looked like cheap versions of the original Ninja Turtle movie costumes. It's a nice throwback to the Ninja Turtles films that many of us grew up with. For those of you not familiar with the original song, or you just want to relive its cheesy awesomeness, I included the original scene from The Secret of the Ooze below.

Paramount Pictures has released the final trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. By now you're either sold on the film and excited to see it or you're not. The new trailer is loaded with new footage of the Ninja Turtles in action fighting Shredder, Rocksteady & Bebop, and Kraang.
Producer Michael Bay and director Dave Green have incorporated a ton of characters from the original animated series, hoping that the fans will forgive them for the last film. Will it work? Only time will tell. If this sequel is a success, you can bet we'll be seeing more Ninja Turtle sequels. If it fails... well, they'll still probably keep the franchise alive anyway.

Back in March, we learned that Fred Armisen (Saturday Night Live) was going to voice the villainous Krang in Paramount Pictures' upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Out Of The Shadows, however, it looks like that's no longer the plan. The Los Angeles Times is reporting that due to a scheduling conflict, Armisen was forced to bow out of the project and now, Everybody Loves Raymond star Brad Garrett will be the one to lend his voice to the classic Turtles villain. He's the latest newcomer to join the cast following Gary Anthony Williams as Bebop and Stephen "Sheamus" Farrelly as Rocksteady. The cast is headlined by Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, and Jeremy Howard as the actors behind the four heroes in a half-shell with Danny Woodburn playing their mentor Splinter (& Tony Shalhoub providing his voice). What would Vin Diesel do?
In this action-packed exclusive clip from "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows," Raphael (Alan Ritchson) asks himself that very question before jumping out of a plane ... to land on another plane, presumably as part of a mission.
His brothers in turtle arms have already taken the plunge, led by Donatello (Jeremy Howard), who reminds them they have a 30-second window. He's followed by Leonardo (Pete Ploszek), and then Michelangelo (Noel Fisher) -- even though he doesn't have a chute.
"I don't need a chute, I've got my board," Michelangelo yells, diving out the door. "Woohoooooo!"
As the first three turtles land on the other plane, Raphael summons the bravery of his idol, Diesel: "No regrets. No fear!" Go big or go home, right?

The titular Heroes in a Half-Shell have (understandably) been the focus of most of the marketing for Paramount's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel thus far, but the official Tmnt Twitter account just debuted this latest character poster, giving us new looks at Megan Fox as ace reporter April O'Neil, and Arrow's Stephen Amell as a very Oliver Queen-looking take on Casey Jones. The Ninja Turtles come into conflict with T.C.R.I. scientist Dr. Baxter Stockman with the association of the Foot Clan and the return of the Shredder, who has hired Stockman to create mutants of their own in the form of Bebop and Rocksteady and an unknown invasion above New York City. To prevent the end of the world, the turtles and their human friends April O'Neil and Vern Fenwick comes to the aid with vigilante Casey Jones. Three new TV spots have been released for director Dave Green’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. Two of them include new footage of the brain-like alien villain Krang as well as new footage of several of the other characters. It seems like a lot of fans are excited to see Krang make an appearance in this sequel. From what I’ve seen of the film, it looks like producer Michael Bay and the rest of the creative team wanted to heavily represent the cartoon series that many of us grew up with. That’s what fans were hoping to see in the first film. It looks like the producers heard their complaints and are trying to make up for it in the sequel. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it all turns out.

Here's another batch of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows character posters, once again spotlighting the titular lean, green fighting machines. Obviously these guys have featured very prominently in the film's marketing, but fans were also hoping to get posters for Casey Jones (Stephen Amell), April O'Neill (Megan Fox) and Shredder (Brian Tee) at some point, too. Hopefully we'll see 'em before the sequel's release at the end of the month. This latest full trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows is mainly comprised of extended shots from previous teasers, but there are a few new bits in there too, along with fresh dialogue from the likes of Mikey and April. The sequel will be with us in June - are you guys looking forward to it, or was the first movie all you needed to see? We have a couple of new TV spots for you to watch for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, and they feature quite a bit of new footage. There are a lot more people excited about seeing this movie than I thought there would be. I saw an extended clip from the film last week at CinemaCon which features the turtles jumping out of an airplane onto another airplane. This movie is going to have a lot of over-the-top action, and on top of that Krang, Rocksteady, and Bebop will be included. You know what? I might actually be excited about this movie had I not seen the first one. Hopefully, the sequel actually turns out better. There’s no doubt that fans of the first movie are going to love this, though.

With Rocksteady, Bebop, Shredder, Krang, and Casey Jones all slated to appear in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows," it looks like it's going to be a fanboy feast for this sequel which steps things up from the surprising, blockbuster original. Dave Green ("Earth To Echo") is behind the camera for this one that finds Donatello, Raphael, Michaelangelo, and Leonardo back in action, once again uniting to the save the day, eat some pizza, and be totally bodacious in this Michael Bay-produced tentpole. Starring Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard, Stephen Amell, Tyler Perry, Brian Tee, Laura Linney, Sheamus, and Gary Anthony Williams, 'Out Of The Shadows' opens on June 3rd.

Paramount are making good use of Stephen Amell's large social media following to promote Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows as he has today unveiled a trailer teaser ahead of the debut of the whole thing this Monday. Featuring some great new footage of the iconic foursome in action, we also get to see a fun exchange between Casey, Michelangelo, and April O'Neil. The first movie was slammed by critics, but proved to be a box office success, and so it remains to be seen whether or not the studio has taken into account the complaints made by both them and longtime fans of the team. Starring Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Johnny Knoxville, Tony Shalhoub, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Brian Tee, Will Arnett, Gary Anthony Williams, and WWE Superstar Sheamus, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows is set to be released on June 3rd!

This pair recently got their own individual character posters, and now a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows promo image combines Shredder’s dim-witted but dangerous mutated henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Sheamus).
Originally created for the ’80s animated series, Bebop and Rocksteady quickly became fan-favorites and crossed over into the comic book universe where they’ve been utilized ever since. Hardcore Heroes in a Half-Shell fans have been hoping to see them get the movie treatment for years, so these ultra faithful interpretations should make ’em very happy indeed.
In the upcoming sequel, the duo will be mutated by Baxter Stockman on Shredder’s orders, and set loose against Leo, Raph, Donny and Mikey.

Paramount Pictures brought Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows to WonderCon this weekend. It was there they announced that former SNL comedian Fred Armisen would be providing the voice of the alien villain Krang in the movie. This is a very interesting and unexpected casting choice.
During the panel, producer Andrew Form talked about how good of a fit Armisen is for the character and says, “Anyone who’s a fan of Krang will love what Fred is doing. It’s unbelievable." So I guess that's something that fans of the film franchise have to look forward too.
As most of you already know, Krang is an alien brain warlord from another dimension who reside in a giant android exoskeleton. It's one of the most ridiculous things from the franchise, but thats why I loved the series so much as a kid!

Following a batch of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows posters for the titular Heroes in a Half-Shell, the next characters to get the spotlight are a couple of fan-favourite bad guys from the ’80s animated era: Shredder’s mutated henchmen, Bebop and Rocksteady.
Say what you will about the previous film’s handling of the Turtles and Splinter etc, but there’s no denying that these two look just like their animated/comic book counterparts.
In addition to the posters, during the Tmnt 2 panel at WonderCon, producer Brad Fuller revealed that none other than former Saturday Night Live alum Fred Armisen (Portlandia, Anchorman) will be providing the voice for evil alien brain, Krang. Fuller also promised that we’d be getting a much better look at the villain in the very near future.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Clip Shows the Party Wagon in Action, Plus Our First Look at Shredder
Cowabunga dudes! In case you missed it during the Kid's Choice Awards, the first clip from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows has been released online. This is an action-packed clip that features the Ninja Turtles in hot pursuit driving the Party Wagon. The clip shows off some of the van's crazy weaponry, which includes nunchuck wielding robot arms. The van looks like it was built to be in a Mad Max movie, but I don't think it would survive that world.
I also included an image giving us our first look at the new Shredder character design. The image was posted by actor Brian Tee, who plays the villain. As you can see, this version of Shedder is closer to the source material than the laughable version in the previous movie.
