The last time much of Hollywood heard from Sydney Holland, she was in the midst of an acrimonious split from nonagenarian media mogul and chairman emeritus of CBS and Viacom Sumner Redstone. But Holland would rather be known for something more impactful — producing films that raise awareness of real problems affecting people much less fortunate. Through her Rich Hippie Productions, Holland recently served as an executive producer on the documentary “The Seventh Fire,” which follows a grizzled Native American gangster, Rob Brown, and his young protégé, Kevin, as they navigate a minefield of addiction and crime on Minnesota’s White Earth.

With only seven months until Spider-Man’s McU debut in Captain America: Civil War, one of the persistent questions about this iteration of the Web-Slinger is what his costume will look like. The new suit is said to be different than the ones that have been seen before while still resembling classic Spidey, but that still leaves a lot to the imagination. Today, however, a new report emerged suggesting that the new Spider-Man outfit will feature a distinguishing mark from his earliest days in the comics. Heroic Hollywood heard Tom Holland’s Spider-Man costume will feature the classic spider symbol on the back. Although Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spideys both wore costumes that featured a spider design on the back, the website notes that this time around it will more closely resemble the oval shaped body with the stubby legs (as seen below). This ...

Suicide Squad is a film that.s crowded with some of the worst criminals and evildoers the DC universe has to offer. However, what remains a mystery is the identity of the actual antagonist of the film, a.k.a. the threat that the Squad is sent to defeat. There.s been plenty of speculation on which DC character is dangerous enough to send individuals just as dangerous to stop them, and now a new rumor suggests that the main antagonist will actually be someone previously thought to be one of the film.s "protagonists": Enchantress. Heroic Hollywood heard a rumor that Cara Delevingne.s character will be the adversary that requires the super villain team.s attention in the 2016 blockbuster. Why? Evidently she.s on a mission to find her dead brother and resurrect him. This catches the attention of Amanda Waller, who sends in the Squad to...

After Hollywood heard the resounding cries of “I guess that would be okay, whatever!” in response to the barrage of Peter Pan films slated for revival, the writers behind one of the films have decided to do us one better and add double the pirates to the mix. The origin story Pan, directed by Joe Wright, will include the traditional character of Captain Hook, but will also feature the fearsome pirate Blackbeard to antagonize the poor little orphan Peter. Stepping into that role? Hugh Jackman is in negotiations to take the part after Javier Bardem passed. The film follows a young orphan (presumably one who never wants to grow up?) who is brought to the magical world of Neverland, where he becomes a hero to the native people by leading a revolt against the dreaded pirates. In previous incarnations of Peter Pan, Captain Hook took the reins in leading the pirates to torture Peter and his band...

If, over the last 10 months, you’ve sometimes felt that sitting through 2011’s movies has been somewhat akin to sitting through TV’s summer reruns, that’s because you have been sitting through reruns. Well, reruns Hollywood style.
According to a Box Office Mojo story earlier this year, 2011 will end as a record year for sequels, prequels, and spin-offs. I don’t know if Mojo included remakes in that calculation, but whether they did or didn’t, remakes have certainly added to that oppressive déjà vu feeling which seems to roll into the multiplex every couple of weeks.
And we’re not even considering the familiar-feeling clones and knock-offs. “Oh, yippee, another superhero flick! Another The Hangover wannabe!” It’s like that Twilight Zone where Dennis Weaver is damned to relive the same bad dream over and over; the people take different parts in each cycle, but it’s still the same nightmare.

Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts together again! Methinks someone is trying to recapture the magic of Charlie Wilson’s War. Hasn’t Hollywood heard that the era of the Movie Star is over? Big names don’t open films anymore. Still, it’s nice to see movie stars falling in love on film. It’s nice to know that the lives of rich famous fabulous people aren’t the hellish trials they appear to be from the outside. Larry Crowne openss in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. on July 1.

There will be no Robert Downey Jr. in "Gravity". Following speculation that he might leave the project due to scheduling conflict after various casting changes postponed the production, the "Iron Man" actor apparently has bailed in mid November.
But it did not take too long for Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures to find his replacement since George Clooney has stepped in to take over the job. Deadline Hollywood heard the rumor first before the studio confirms it soon after.
Clooney will be seen playing a team leader of a space station. He will share screen with Sandra Bullock who portrays the main character of a female astronaut on a remote space station who attempts to return home to her child as the other team members have got wiped out by a debris field from an exploding satellite. "The Blind Side" actress herself is cast after Natalie Portman turned down the role.

On the heels of Jeremy Renner casting news, "Mission: Impossible IV" has sparked a new rumor. According to Variety, the film could get a new title which does not even make reference to the widely known franchise. "It's possible that the title won't even include the familiar moniker," an insider told the site.
At almost the same time, Deadline Hollywood heard another buzz regarding the project. This fourth "Mission: Impossible" movie allegedly has a part for a young female operative, and Kristin Kreuk ("Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li"), Lauren German ("Happy Town") and Paula Patton ("Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire") are testing for the role.
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" star Noomi Rapace has previously been said being wanted for "Mission: Impossible IV", but it has not been known whether she is circling the same role. The Swedish actress was expected to meet the film's...

Earth to readers. I've got some really, really, really good news to share with you today. "Zoolander" is getting a sequel. Probably. "It's been too long" is an understatement.
The 2001 comedy starring Ben Stiller as a vain, exceedingly dim male model has long been talked about for a follow-up. Fans of the cult hit certainly want one, and everyone associated with the original has had to field questions about the possibility for close to a decade now. Will Ferrell, who played the villainous clothing designer Mugatu in the first movie, told MTV in early 2008 that there had been "a little talk" but the ideas were "just not crystallizing." We later heard more encouraging news from original writer John Hamburg, who said "I think someday we will make that movie." Stiller himself spoke out about a sequel as recently as May 2009, saying "I'd love to do 'Zoolander 2.'"
Now however,...
